About the role

Job Purpose

As a Global Senior Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Sandoz\'s future-looking data and information architecture and frameworks, enabling the enterprise\'s cutting-edge data products and services.

Major Accountabilities

1) Establish a consistent, interoperable, and scalable data and information architecture to support current and future business activities.

2) Develop and review (solution) architectures and implementation plans for data products and services.

3) Develop artifacts such as data domains, and conceptual data models (e.g. ontologies) together with various stakeholders to ensure quality, interoperability, and consistency of data. Connect closely with business and IT stakeholders to proactively identify and address requirements, risks, dependencies and potential issues.

4) Provide holistic, solution-oriented, and professional consulting to our internal clients in the areas of Data Architecture, Enterprise Knowledge Graph, Data Products, and newest technology developments.

Key Performance Indicators

1) IT Cost efficiency; Savings due to asset re-use interval reduction & decommissioning.

2) Completeness, adequacy, and correctness of the enterprise architecture meeting its functional and non-functional (qualitative) needs and requirements.

Role Requirements

Education:

• Master of Science degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science or related field
• Certification in and/or experience with Agile, DevOps, and DataOps methodologies are a plus

Languages:

• Fluent in written and spoken English

Skills:

• Experienced in guiding and developing teams across wide geographies & in collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to align a strategic IT service portfolio with business needs.
• Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills to present features and solution recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Experience with change management through process engineering and/or participating in large-scale IT change / transformation programs

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture for enterprise-wide data products and services, preferably in the pharmaceutical environment
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience working with cloud computing technologies for big data is a plus.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments, open-source software and Graph Technologies are a plus
• Experience in architecting asynchronous, message-based architectures
