Global Process Owner Order to Cash (O2C), AP Process Excellence | BASF Agricultural Solutions

To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for a Global Business Process Owner Order to Cash.
Your job
We are in search of a highly experienced and strategic Global Process Owner (GPO) for the Order to Cash (O2C) process, to lead and optimize our end-to-end order fulfillment and revenue collection activities within our dedicated Process Excellence Team (PET). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, supply chain, or customer service, coupled with exceptional leadership, communication, and process optimization skills. As the GPO for O2C, you will play a pivotal role in driving global consistency, efficiency, and customer experience in our order fulfillment process. You will lead a community of global, regional and country Process Experts in the area of Order to Cash.
Key responsibilities

  • Process Ownership: Assume full ownership of the Order to Cash process, encompassing order processing, invoicing, credit management, collections, andbook to report. Oversee all O2C activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established policies.
  • Global Standardization: Collaborate with global, regional and local teams and stakeholders to establish and enforce global standard operating procedures and best practices for the O2C process. Ensure consistent order fulfillment and revenue recognition practices across various entities and regions.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess the O2C process to identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and automation opportunities. Lead process redesign initiatives to enhance customer experience, reduce cycle times, and minimize errors.
  • Risk Management: Implement robust internal controls to mitigate order and revenue-related risks. Ensure adherence to revenue recognition standards (e.g., ASC 606, IFRS 15) and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Technology Integration: Partner with IT teams to leverage technology solutions, such as order management systems, billing platforms, and collections tools, to streamline and enhance the O2C process. Drive digital transformation initiatives to meet evolving customer expectations.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness and efficiency of the O2C process. Regularly report progress and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts associated with process improvements and system implementations. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Process Excellence Community (PEC) and promote customer-centric practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and IT, to ensure alignment, gather feedback, and drive successful project execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for O2C process-related inquiries.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and guide a team of global process experts within the Process Excellence Community. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance their skill sets and capabilities.
  • Main interface to GB and GD Process Owner community: Be the main contact person for all the existing process owners of GB and GD to ensure that AP specific process requirements and needs are fulfilled.

Your team
In this challenging position you will give coaching and guidance to a community of global, regional and local Process Experts teams. You will report to our \xe2\x80\x98Process Excellence Team Lead\xe2\x80\x99 and act as the right hand and sparring partner of Global and Regional Leadership in AP.
Your Profile Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; Master\'s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Sales, Commercial Excellence, Supply Chain, or Finance, with a strong focus on the Order to Cash process and related activities.
  • Experience working in Agriculture is a plus.

  • Process Excellence: Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives, implementing best practices, and optimizing financial processes for global organizations.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and detail-oriented approach to decision-making.
  • Change Agent: Demonstrated experience in driving change management efforts and managing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with order management systems, billing platforms, and collections tools. Ability to harness technology for process enhancements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Global Mindset: Understanding of global supply chain and financial operations, regulatory environments, and cultural nuances.
  • Customer-Centric: A strong commitment to enhancing the customer experience throughout the O2C process.
