Global Process Owner Demand Planning - AP Process Excellence | BASF Agricultural Solutions

Your job
We are looking for an accomplished and visionary Global Process Owner (GPO) for Demand Planning in Supply Chain to lead and optimize our global demand forecasting and planning processes within our dedicated Process Excellence Team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of demand planning, business and supply chain dynamics, and process improvement methodologies. As the GPO for Demand Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our organization\'s demand forecasting accuracy, supply chain efficiency, and customer satisfaction while leading a community of regional and local business process experts.
Key responsibilities


  • Process Ownership:
    Assume complete ownership of the Demand Planning process in Supply Chain, covering sales and demand forecasting, and inventory management, and be the link to sales and operations planning (S&OP), and demand-supply synchronization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Global Standardization: Collaborate with global, regional and local teams and stakeholders to establish and enforce global demand planning standards, best practices, and methodologies. Drive consistency in demand planning processes across different regions and business units.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess the Demand Planning process to identify opportunities for improvement, forecast accuracy enhancement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains. Lead process redesign initiatives to enhance demand forecasting, reduce lead times, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure that demand planning activities are closely aligned with the organization\'s strategic objectives and market dynamics. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and communicate demand planning strategies, KPIs, and success metrics.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies within the Demand Planning process, including scenario planning, demand variability assessment, supply chain risk analysis, and contingency planning. Proactively address potential supply chain disruptions
  • Technology Integration: Partner with IT teams to leverage advanced demand planning tools,advanced demand forecasting systems (ADF), and supply chain analytics. Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance demand planning capabilities.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the Demand Planning process. Regularly provide performance insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Community Leadership: Lead and mentor a community of global, regional and local business process experts within the Process Excellence Team. Provide guidance, support, and expertise to enhance demand planning capabilities across the organization.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts associated with process improvements and technology implementations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless adoption of new processes and tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance, to gather input, align demand planning efforts, and drive successful project execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for demand planning-process related inquiries.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices in demand planning and process optimization. Integrate innovative approaches to enhance demand planning capabilities.

  • Talent Development: Mentor and guide a team of process experts within the Process Excellence Community (PEC). Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance their skill sets and capabilities.

  • Develop and safeguard: AP\xe2\x80\x99s Process Architecture / Framework, BPM Methods & Conventions, Governance

  • Main interface to GB and GD Process Owner community: Be the main contact person for all the existing process owners of GB and GD to ensure that AP specific process requirements and needs are fulfilled.

Your team
In this challenging position you will give coaching and guidance to a global community of global, regional and local Process Experts team. You will report to our \xe2\x80\x98Process Excellence Team Lead\xe2\x80\x99 and act as the right hand and sparring partner of Global and Regional Leadership in AP.
Your Profile Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in supply chain management, Sales, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related field; Master\'s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPIM, IBF) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, with a focus on global demand planning operations, forecasting methodologies, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agriculture is a plus.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Global Perspective: Understanding of global supply chain operations, market dynamics, and cultural nuances.
  • Innovation Mindset: A commitment to fostering innovation and driving continuous improvement in demand planning processes.
