Division Profile

Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.

Firmwide Operations

Firmwide Operations includes Shared Services and Banking Operations (SSBO), Operations Risk and Control, Global Project Group and Metrics, Branch Operations and Divisional Management. SSBO provides utility processing services to Global Operations. By functionalizing processes across segments, SSBO realizes efficiencies through scale, location strategy and adoption of best practices. SSBO provides quality operational core processes at an optimal price point, with maximum benefit to Client's business lines. Services currently provided by SSBO include Cash Management, OTC Derivative and Security Settlements, Position Services, Reconciliations, Tax, Network Management and Vendor Management.

Operations Risk and Control ensure adequate controls are in place, through providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.

Global Loan Services
The Global Loan Servicing Team (GLS) provides operational support for various Wholesale Loan products including Corporate Loans and Whole Loans. GLS also supports Global Capital Markets (GCM), Loan Products Group (LPG), and Leverage Acquisition Financing (LAF).

As an Operational unit, GLS is divided amongst numerous teams that are responsible for the following functions;

  • Corporate Loans: Responsibilities consist of origination and syndication of primary loan facilities, servicing agency deals, and facilitation of secondary loan trading. The team is also responsible for supporting transactions for other loan products such as Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), Total Return Swaps(TRS), and Letters of Credit (LCs).
  • Whole Loans: Responsibilities include providing front to back operational support to the Securitized Products Group (SPG). Products include Warehouse lending, Residential and Commercial mortgages, consumer loans, and capital commitments.
Qualifications

Graduate in BMS or BAF, Experience in Backoffice, operation in finance or banking industry will be preferable

confident professional, articulate, self-motivated, problem solver, analytical, people person, ability to multi-task and manage deadlines, organized, detail oriented

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary role of the Quality Control team within Loan Operations is to conduct an independent dual review of Corporate loans and amendments, utilizing a proprietary application, in order to verify the integrity of all quantitative and qualitative details. Staff will participate in all aspects of the daily workload for the quality control team and will interact with other teams within loan operations. Staff will be involved in metrics reporting for the team as well as assisting with some of the process reengineering initiatives currently underway

- Access to lending documents that contain Material Non-Public Information.

- Coordinating globally, via e-mail, phone, and in person, with various internal teams to:

o Perform quality control review of new corporate lending deals and amendments via proprietary application, and reconcile any discrepancies that arise from the review.

o Interpret structure and relevant terms of credit agreements and review other pertinent loan documentation in order to build out the specifics of the loan agreements in the application.

o Responsible for providing oversight of the activities being performed by the vendor eClerx, to mitigate risk and ensure completion of workflow.

- Contribute to creation of exception and metrics reporting.

- Provide training of new employees and current employees to ensure adequate depth.

- Monitor and address e-mail inquiries sent to the QC team's inbox and field phone inquiries.

- Escalation of issues to management.

- Testing of application fixes and enhancement
