Job Description

The Geospatial Analyst will form part of a global team primarily responsible for the creation and production of maps and spatial datasets which form part of Wood Mackenzie\'s Research, Consulting, and Product offerings. The analyst will provide mapping/geospatial support for a variety of projects within a global team including tasks such as: cartography, geospatial data editing, geospatial analysis, and completing production processes. Main Responsibilities Update Wood Mackenzie\'s mapping system covering the energy and natural resources industry using ArcGIS. This includes adding new vector information for example - the location of a mine, pipeline, windfarm, or oil and gas block. Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap is essential. Experience with Portal for ArcGIS is preferred. Create new maps using ArcPro for use in publications. Ensure geospatial data is consistent across the business and presented to company cartographic standards. Gather and interpret reliable GIS / geospatial information. Work openly and co-operatively within the team and the business to maintain quality and consistently meet agreed timescales. Follow pre-set processes and procedures effectively. Ensure effective application of cartographic techniques. Use GIS software to create queries and perform analysis of location, relationships, trends, patterns, adjacency, containment, and proximity of complex features and data. Some knowledge of GIS programming, computer operating systems, and networks computer system architecture, & client/ server protocols #LI-MS1 Qualifications Strong background in GIS and ESRI ArcGIS software products. Comfortable with technical information, GIS practices and conventions. Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
