Anderson Diagnostics is seeking a BGCI certified Level 1 Genetic counsellor for the division of Reproductive Genetics. The ideal candidate will be joining an enthusiastic group of counsellors focused on delivering genetic diagnostic solutions across India.

Qualifications/ Requirements

• Master\'s Degree in, Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling
• Freshers with BGCI certification or Two (2) years of experience providing genetic counseling
• In a Health care or a related field as determined by Anderson
• Demonstrated skills and experience in patient handling and communication
• Preferred: Experience in Fertility and prenatal genetics or equivalent work.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of patients - through face-to-face interactions, over the phone and via video (virtual clinics)
• Take and interpret family and medical histories to calculate the risk of condition occurrence or recurrence
• Assess which genetic tests are most appropriate for each patient
• Interpret genetic tests and explain them in easy-to-understand language to patients and their relatives
• Educate patients about inheritance patterns, testing, management, prevention, resources and research
• Use counselling skills to promote informed choices and help patients adapt to the risk or condition
• Work with other medical and healthcare staff as part of a multidisciplinary team of genetic consultants, clinical scientists and other consultants to ensure appropriate follow-up of patients.
• This profile includes technical support to the marketing teams and liaising with clinicians on testing strategies and patient support by analysis of the risk and benefits of genetic testing

Mandatory requirement

• Board certified by the Board of Genetic Counseling of India
• Position in Chennai: Fluency in Tamil.
• Position in Kolkata: Fluency in Bengali.
• Position in New Delhi: Fluency in Hindi
