General Manager - Operations (Integrated Facility & Security)

15-20 years (preferably with ex-defense or paramilitary background)

Role Overview:

The General Manager - Operations will lead and oversee all aspects of integrated facility management and security operations across multiple sites. This includes strategic planning, vendor and manpower management, compliance, crisis response, and stakeholder coordination to ensure seamless, secure, and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities: Facility & Infrastructure Management

Oversee day-to-day operations of facility services including housekeeping, maintenance, utilities, and transport. Implement preventive maintenance schedules and ensure minimal downtime. Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across properties.

Security & Risk Management

Design and implement robust security protocols for offices, sites, and residential areas. Lead crisis management planning and emergency response drills. Establish and manage Quick Response Teams (QRTs) for incident handling.

Vendor & Manpower Oversight

Manage third-party service providers and ensure SLA compliance. Recruit, train, and supervise security and facility personnel--preferably ex-servicemen. Monitor team performance and ensure discipline and motivation.

Compliance & Liaison

Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements (fire safety, labor laws, etc.). Liaise with government bodies, law enforcement, and local authorities for permits and approvals.

Budgeting & Cost Optimization

Prepare and manage operational budgets for facility and security functions. Negotiate vendor contracts and optimize costs without compromising service quality.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

Build trust with local communities and resolve land, labor, or political issues. Lead CSR initiatives and represent the organization in public forums.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in management, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred. Ex-Army/Defense background strongly preferred. Proven leadership in facility and security operations across large-scale properties. Strong negotiation, crisis management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office, facility management software, and compliance tools.
