JD for the Role: GM-Costing
Role Purpose
Costing, Pricing, Budgeting, Variance Analysis, Competitive Pricing Analysis, Management Accounting and Business Analysis.
Strategic role
- Goal setting for the organization in terms of profitability.
- Information/data from the key stake holders (senior leadership) of the organization should be evaluated from the financial goal perspective of the organization.
- This information/data should be transformed into strategy to facilitate quick decision making of the organization.
- Help the Management to take quick decisions.
- Review the decision taken and keep Management informed if any deviation.
Infrastructural role
- He should build infrastructure which can integrate data from all the departments and, with the help of analytical tools, convert this data into information for quick decision making.
Accounting Role
- Cost accountants help to plan, budget and monitor performance
- Set standard unit costs and recommend appropriate cost-saving opportunities
- Understanding where a company is spending money as well as which products/brands/SKUs are profitable.
- Raising Red flags at the right time if costs are allocated over the budget.
Operational Role
- Maintaining the records in SAP
- Updating the SAP with the actual PO\'s.
- Monthly updates as the legal requirements
- Provide factual Monthly costing updates
- Coordinating, implementing and monitoring budgetary controls.
- Computation of costs, feasibility analysis and profitability working of new products and new / special projects.
- Analysis of Data / Reports from SAP and managing SAP - CO and SAP - COPA module.
- Critical Analysis of Input Material Price.
- Review and assessment of Plant Costing operations.
- Define and operate stringent review mechanism on a regular basis.
- Working out process improvement / automation initiatives, that would effect in time and cost efficiency results.
- Costing principles and methodologies
- Thorough working knowledge of COPA
- Understanding Industry dynamics
- Presentation skills, SAP Modules
- Strong business and financial acumen to align results to overall business strategy and company financial goals.
- The ability to develop strategy from in-depth analysis.
- Proven success driving results and delivering return on investment to the company.
- Comprehensive functional skills and a result - driven approach.

EXPERIENCE - 15-20 years
