Job Purpose
Implement maintenance activities of the plant to maximize plant availability at minimum maintenance cost while also maintaining safety & environmental standard with available resources to meet production targets
Job Context & Major Challenges
Chemicals Business of Aditya Birla Group produces Chlor-Alkali products among other Chemicals through seven units situated in different parts of the country. Eighth unit is under project phase. ABG is largest producer of Chlor Alkali in India with a market share of approx. 26%.
One of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities is based at Vilayat having the capacity to produce 1000 TPD of Caustic. The Unit also produces Chlorine derivates namely Chlorinated Paraffins (CP), Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC powder & liquid), Stable Bleaching Powder (SBP), Phosphoric Acid (PA), Aluminum Chloride (ALCP), SCO & CBGP.
The unit, located in the chemical hub of South Gujarat at Vilayat, is poised for an ambitious growth.
To maintain all time reliability of critical Mechanical items and ability to analysis the deviations & to review the insurance / critical spares.
Challenges:

• Execution of PM & other maintenance activities in the safe condition in highly corrosive environment/fluid.
• Upkeep of plant specific critical Mechanical equipment is a major challenge.
• Execute the maintenance activities in the allocated resources viz. Labor, materials, and spares efficiently within the allocated budget to attend internal customer complaints.an of the Group.

Chlor Alkali Business is putting up Greenfield & Brownfield projects at existing unit locations and new locations in the country to sustain the leadership position in Chlor Alkali Business and meeting the changing Business needs
Job holder is responsible for planning, organizing and monitoring the mechanical related activities with full compliance of SHE in the area of concern in Vilayat Project
Job Challenges:
1.Timely erection and commissioning of mechanical equipments in the project
2.Effective resource management and its utilization within allocated budget in project

1. Plant Maintenance:
Implement all maintenance activities in the plant
1. Follow schedules and timely implement daily maintenance activities in the concerned areas
2. Check and report preventive maintenance, shutdown and predictive maintenance systems for abnormalities and take corrective action for elimination
3. Implement the PM activities as per the schedule under coordination with concerned process plant and feed the data in the system
4. Refer Chronic problems to superiors and concerned for advice and remedial measures
5. Communicate and get organized necessary resources like material & manpower for uninterrupted & timely completion of maintenance jobs
6. Indenting of spares & spare part management

2. Cost Control & improvements
Act on cost reduction and process improvement plans within budgeted time and cost
1. Implement measures in design modification for cost reduction
2. Suggest to the Section Head any measures for cost improvement/control
3. Assist data collection, information to identify opportunities and Bottlenecks

3. Reports and Documentation:
Timely update all documents of the section
1. Timely preparation of all relevant reports, MIS and update all systems
2. Ensure update of documents as per ISO and related
3. Assist in getting timely audits done in the section

4. System Management (Safety, Sustainability & WCM):
Adhere to statutory compliance related to Safety, Health and Environment & Sustainability and systems like IMS, WCM and ISO
1. Adhere to quality systems in the section for improving performance as per quality and environmental standards
2. Implement IMS 9001, 14001, 50001, SA 8000, OHSAS 18001 & WCM practices & other systems in the Section
3. Implement periodic sustainability audits action plans as directed by Sustainability Cell and other audits
4. Handle emergency situations like Liquid Chlorine leakages etc. under Disaster Management activities
5. Timely update documents related to ISO 9001 & ISO14001 for the department
6. Participate in Kaizen, Suggestion Scheme, etc. and ensure implementation of audit findings

5. People Development:
Maintain a congenial work culture by effective communication with workmen both permanent & contractual
1. Maintain proper communication with workers and contract labour, their shift activities and resource requirements
2. As and when required effectively communicate the management objectives and action plans for implementation
