What You'll Be Doing:

Position summary
Evolent Health is looking for a Manager, FP&A to be a key member of the growing Finance team. This individual will join a small, fast-paced team of FP&A professionals at a growth-oriented public company and will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health's mission by ensuring that the company is able to plan for growth, execute on and track performance vs. budget, and make informed executive decisions backed by financial and strategic analysis. This individual will support and drive key elements of the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, the Manager, FP&A will actively collaborate with the business units' key stakeholders with the objective of presenting key performance components and trends. Proactively leveraging subject matter expertise, this individual will identify and share short and long-term opportunities for improved financial performance and strategic decision-making.

This position will require minimal amount of travel.

Essential functions

  • Manages revenue and vendor expense forecasting and collaborates with various business partners to ensure accuracy of forecasts and analysis of performance
  • Provides analysis of business risks and opportunities to support decision-making and action plans
  • Manages performance of key point solutions within the business to report on P&L performance if those point solutions
  • Provides reporting and analysis of key business drivers impacting current and future performance
  • Support the financial planning activities in a manner that yields challenging, but achievable, strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts and provides clear understanding of requirements and results
  • Uses strong financial-modeling experience to build business models for scenario and sensitivity analysis
  • Presents financial performance and analysis to Corporate Finance and operational stakeholders on a scheduled and on demand basis
  • Implement process improvements to drive efficiency and ensure accurate and timely distribution of key reports to stakeholders.
  • Manages and supports ad-hoc requests to include real estate analyses, return on investment analysis, business unit margin opportunities, etc. for senior internal stakeholders.
The Experience You'll Need (Required):
  • 4-7 years of experience in a corporate finance function or conducting complex financial analysis in a related field (e.g., investment banking, consulting, etc.); experience in corporate FP&A role a plus
  • Graduate/Post-graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business or related area of study
  • Ability to utilize Excel at an advanced level, including knowledge of key formulas and functions, data mining techniques, data tables, pivot tables, V-lookups, macros, etc.
  • Experience building/managing budgets and/or management dashboards, a focus on revenue an expense management a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, organization, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with both fiscal and non-fiscal management staff and stakeholders both verbally and in writing
  • The ideal candidate must be independently motivated, a collaborative team player and adaptable to different situations and personalities
  • Able to meet deadlines within time constraints
  • Ability to interpret results and recommend improvements
Mandatory Requirements:

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
