Job Description


As a Food Microbiologist specializing in the meat industry, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, quality, and shelf-life of our meat products You will be responsible for conducting microbiological analyses, implementing food safety protocols, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality control measures Your Key Responsibilities: Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to detect and quantify bacterial, fungal, and viral contaminants. Utilize a variety of techniques including culturing and microscopy to identify and characterize microorganisms present in products. Monitor and assess microbial growth, spoilage, and pathogenic organisms to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Interpret test results and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, including production team, quality assurance teams, and management. Develop and validate testing methodologies for specific microorganisms relevant to our industry. Implement and oversee Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and other food safety programs to prevent contamination and ensure product safety. Participate in the design and execution of challenge studies to determine product shelf-life and potential microbial risks. Provide training to production staff on proper hygiene, sanitation, and microbiological practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory changes related to food microbiology and safety. Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory protocols, equipment, and processes. Requirements Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, aseptic practices, and laboratory equipment. Familiarity with relevant regulations such as FSSAI and industry-specific guidelines. Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting using software tools. Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision . Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Problem-solving skills to address unexpected microbial challenges and devise effective solutions. Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic production environment . Master s degree or education in Food Microbiology, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field.
