Floor Supervisor - Japanese & Korean Fine Dine Restaurant
Job Summary
The Floor Supervisor will oversee day-to-day floor operations, ensuring seamless service, guest satisfaction, and adherence to Japanese & Korean fine-dining standards. With strong leadership skills and extensive hospitality experience, the Floor Supervisor will train and guide the service team, manage guest relations, and coordinate with the kitchen and bar to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
Ensure warm, personalized, and professional guest service following Japanese omotenashi(hospitality) principles.
Manage guest relations, address complaints efficiently, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Guide guests with menu knowledge, including Japanese & Korean dishes, beverages, and dining etiquette.
Floor Operations
Supervise daily restaurant floor operations to maintain smooth service flow.
Allocate table assignments and oversee seating arrangements for maximum efficiency and guest comfort.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
Monitor cleanliness, ambience, and compliance with fine-dining standards.
Team Leadership & Training
Supervise and motivate service staff, including captains, stewards, and host/hostess.
Conduct daily pre-shift briefings on menu updates, specials, and service focus.
Mentor junior staff on guest handling, menu knowledge, and service etiquette (including Japanese & Korean dining customs).
Support HR in training new hires and evaluating staff performance.
Sales & Upselling
Promote signature dishes, premium beverages, and chef's specials to maximize revenue.
Monitor service quality and upselling techniques of the team.
Assist management in achieving sales targets and maintaining cost control.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with FSSAI, hygiene, and restaurant safety standards.
Monitor service team's adherence to grooming, uniform, and behavior protocols.
Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Requirements
Experience:
4+ years as Floor Supervisor, with 6-7 years overall in hospitality/service industry (fine dining preferred).
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of Japanese & Korean cuisine, dining etiquette, and service culture.
Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management.
Strong guest handling and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced fine-dine environment.
Upselling and sales-oriented mindset.
Education:
Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality preferred.
Languages:
English fluency required; knowledge of basic Japanese/Korean greetings will be an added advantage.
