Key responsibilities
Maintenance and repair:
Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on rolling mill equipment, such as mill stands, gearboxes, pumps, shears, and conveyors.
Assembly and installation:
Assemble, install, and align heavy machinery and mechanical components.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and rectify faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Fabrication:
Cut, shape, and fit metal parts according to specifications and technical drawings.
Technical interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals to service equipment.
Safety compliance:
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and ensure equipment is functioning safely.
Collaboration:
Work with production, electrical, and other teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Record keeping:
Maintain logs of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
An ITI certification in Fitting or a related technical field is typically required.
Experience:
