Job Description

Fire & Safety Officer Candidates should have Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and minimum 1 year Diploma in Fire Safety with 5 - 7 years of work experience. Following are the charter of duties:-

• Ensure conducting of Fire & Safety Training is imparted to Emergency Response team quarterly and Evacuation drill conducted twice a year to entire Teaching & Non-Teaching staff, Security Personals and House Keepings periodically.
• Always ensure that all firefighting, fire detection system, public address system, first aid fire extinguishers equipment\xe2\x80\x99s and appliances at locations are in serviceable 24x7 and in auto regime.
• Make sure Fire Alarm Public Address & Firefighting systems are under AMC with qualified license holder vendor.
• Make sure every Institutions is issued with Fire NOC, if not then it is brought into notice of Senior Management.
• Make sure form \xe2\x80\x98B\xe2\x80\x99 for every Institution is issued twice a year.
• To co-ordinate with local Fire Department to inspect and indicate the mandatory requirements of the Fire Department.
• Conduct Evacuation Drill with coordination with Police as well as nearest local Fire Department team or in presence of both the authorities.
• Personally check the entire Firefighting equipment\xe2\x80\x99s are in good working condition. E.g. Fire Alarm / Public Address systems, Fire Hydrants, Fire Pumps, Sprinkler System, Fire Extinguishers, fire tanks always full, Emergency lights, Signage\xe2\x80\x99s etc.
• Carry out inspections on Fire Extinguisher\xe2\x80\x99s refilling and new requirements.
• Ensure PPE (Personal Protective Equipment\xe2\x80\x99s) are made available at all locations and also to instruct floor laboratory HOD to ensure personals are making use PPE\xe2\x80\x99s to avoid any casualties at SVKM Institutions.
• Plan periodic visit for fire training and systems inspection at all campuses at Mumbai Campuses, mailing weekly reports / Monthly reports to your HOD
