The F&B Service Associate at Cafficana is responsible for delivering a refined and consistent dining experience aligned with European cafe and restaurant service standards. The role focuses on guest interaction, table service, order management, hygiene, and coordination with kitchen and barista teams. Freshers will be trained on service basics and brand standards, while experienced associates are expected to demonstrate strong service skills, product knowledge, and guest-handling capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Service & Experience
Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating according to service standards.
Present menus, explain European dishes, beverages, and daily specials confidently.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
Serve food and beverages professionally, ensuring correct presentation and temperature.
Monitor tables proactively and anticipate guest needs.
Handle guest feedback, requests, and complaints politely and escalate when required.
2. Restaurant Operations & Table Management
Prepare the dining area before service (table setup, cutlery, glassware, napkins).
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of tables, floors, service stations, and restrooms.
Follow service sequence: greeting, order taking, service, clearance, and billing.
Assist in buffet or event service when applicable.
Ensure timely coordination with kitchen and bar for smooth service flow.
3. Product Knowledge & Upselling
Learn and understand menu items, ingredients, allergens, and preparation styles.
Suggest pairings, add-ons, desserts, and beverages to enhance guest experience.
Promote signature dishes, chef specials, and seasonal offerings.
Communicate out-of-stock items clearly to guests.
4. POS, Billing & Cash Handling
Accurately punch orders into the POS system.
Generate bills and handle payments (cash, card, UPI) responsibly.
Ensure bills are closed correctly and submit shift cash as per SOP.
Maintain zero variance in billing and cash handling.
5. Hygiene, Grooming & Compliance
Follow FSSAI hygiene and food safety guidelines at all times.
Maintain proper personal grooming, uniform standards, and punctuality.
Practice safe food handling and sanitation procedures.
Adhere to restaurant policies, SOPs, and service protocols.
