Job Description

A QSR manager, or fast food restaurant manager, has many responsibilities, including:

Leading

: Being a role model, motivating, and mentoring staff

Managing operations

: Overseeing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing, food preparation, and customer service

Ensuring compliance

: Ensuring the restaurant complies with health and safety regulations, and that food safety and security standards are met

Managing staff

: Recruiting, training, and developing staff, and ensuring they work productively

Managing finances

: Planning and working to budgets, maximizing profits, and controlling costs

Managing customer service

: Handling customer complaints and queries, and ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained

Managing inventory

: Organizing stock and equipment, ordering supplies, and monitoring inventory levels

Managing marketing

: Developing and implementing marketing strategies and promotional activities

Managing reports

: Preparing regular reports for upper management
Other responsibilities include: Building relationships with the local community, Contributing ideas to increase productivity and improve operations, Addressing performance issues, Ensuring equipment functions properly, and Promoting the brand in the local community. Some skills that are useful for a QSR manager include:

Excellent customer service skills Ability to stand for long periods of time Flexibility to work varied shifts Basic math and computer skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations Ability to handle cash and operate a cash register
