What will I be doing?
The role will be responsible for leading the Accounting & Control team within UK&I Operations Finance. The scope of the role is all of the Managed & Leased Hotels in the HAFS (Hilton Accounting & Financial Services) model in the UK & Ireland.
The role will be responsible for managing a team of Accounting Managers, Supervisors and Specialists, operating at multiple locations in the UK (team size 40+).
This is a key role in the UK&I Operations Finance team, reporting directly to the Regional Finance Director, and is part of the Operations Finance Leadership team.
The Accounting & Control Director will partner with the HAFS team, Hotel Operations, and the other towers within the Operations Finance team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the financial results including monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets. The role will be accountable for the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements for all the in-scope Hotels.
The role will be responsible for driving standardization and excellence in accounting processes; ensuring compliance for Operations Finance controls; and driving process improvements across the 5 functional Towers in the HAFS model (RTR, RA, OTC, PTP and HTR). This will be achieved by partnering with the HAFS CoE Leads and the Hotels' Management Teams to drive a continuous improvement agenda and this will include the upstream Hotel operational processes that flow into the Operations Finance processes.
The role holder must be comfortable influencing at Exec level and combine the ability to think strategically with a positive hands-on attitude. Key stakeholders will include UK&I Hotel Exec Leadership, FP&A team, Hotel General Managers, Owners, Asset Managers, Corporate Functional Leads, Compliance Team, HAFS Leadership.
The role will also be responsible for driving a high performing team culture.
