Job Description

This new role requires a wide variety of skills and experience including:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields. Mathematics and Statistics proficiency a plus.
• 10+ years of programming experience in at least 2 modern programming languages / frameworks such as JavaScript, React, Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Python, Pandas, TensorFlow, Go
• 5+ years as manager of multiple tech teams with a passion for coaching engineers
• Previous end-to-end technical ownership of one or more products
• Experience:
  • with machine learning model development and deployment (specific expertise in personalization and ML anomaly detection is preferred but not required)
  • with model and data governance is a plus
  • in building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems
  • using workflow orchestration tools, such as Airflow would be a plus
  • in writing and utilizing RESTful API services and performance tuning large scale applications
  • with cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
  • with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, etc.)
  • using caching technologies like Redis or Memcached is a plus.
  • in engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, TDD, CI/CD, building highly scalable applications, application security
  • with Agile development methodologies
  • with queuing and notification technologies like SQS/SNS is a plus.
• Knowledge of:
  • DevOps principles
  • modern architecture patterns (e.g. microservices, reactive architectures, event-driven architectures)
  • industry-wide technology trends and best practices concerning cloud development and ML architecture
• Ability to collaborate with UI/UX designers and implement high-fidelity mockups and prototypes.
• Ability to interact with people at all levels in an organization, work in large, cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical ideas effectively to a diverse audience
• Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems
