Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Calendar & Scheduling: Manage complex schedules, appointments, court dates, depositions, and meetings, ensuring timely attendance and preparation.
  • Document Management: Draft, format, proofread, and file legal documents (pleadings, motions, agreements) from drafts or dictation using MS Word.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, and other parties; handle confidential correspondence and client inquiries.
  • Case Support: Assist with trial prep, compiling evidence, organizing case files (digital/physical), and tracking case progress.
  • Docketing & Filings: Monitor deadlines, manage court dockets, and coordinate electronic and physical filings.
  • Administrative: Handle general office tasks, billing support, supply management, and implement workflow improvements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Legal Knowledge: Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules (especially e-filing).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), case management software, and legal research tools.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional organization, communication (written/verbal), problem-solving, critical thinking, discretion, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a law firm setting is often required, sometimes with paralegal studies being beneficial.
