Job Description


This position can be based in India, Singapore or Turkey. The EVP Region Intercontinental is responsible for ensuring that Elekta\'s overall business objectives are met for Region Intercontinental, in terms of orders, revenue, and profitability targets across all solutions and services for the five Elekta business lines (Linac / Oncology informatics / Brachy / Neuro / Service). The Head of Region Intercontinental shall therefore establish, develop, manage and report all business activities for the region in terms of setting and achieving budgets for orders, sales and target margin goals. To this end, the Head of Region Intercontinental will guide, support and oversee the management and development of underlying organizations\' sales, service and support, installation delivery and development, training, accounts and administration activities within the respective functional setups. The Head of Region Intercontinental is responsible to ensure regional inputs of local customer activity and market information is provided as an essential input to form the strategy, and to coordinate execution of the plan to meet the regional requirements. The Head of Region Intercontinental thus manages resources under direct report (sales, service, OF, admin, operations), resources reporting indirectly (e.g. marketing, software support, HR, Legal, compliance, IT, QA/RA) and will coordinate with business lines and global functions. Region Intercontinental is defined as covering all business activities for 96 countries divided into two subregions: Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) and Turkey, India, Middle East, and Africa (TIMEA). With 13 regional hub offices in Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, Seoul, New Delhi, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Cairo, and Johannesburg. This position is evaluated on achieving the overall regional business results per business line including. business volume, revenue and contribution goals. EVP Region Intercontinental is a member of the Executive Management of Elekta AB and reporting strong line to the Chief Commercial Officer. Responsibilities Assume full responsibility for budget fulfilment and goal achievement in terms of revenue, operating expense and profitability targets. Establish, develop and manage annual budgets and long term (3 year) plans for the region in terms of orders, sales, target margins and operating expense goals, as well as strategic & operational objectives, in coordination with the business lines. Manage, measure and review the operative regional business performance against the defined budgets / forecasts and report to the business lines. Track and verify that the overall profitability of the regional operation is in line with budget. Define and report the market potential and needs for Linac, MR-Linac, Oncology informatics, Neuro and Brachy products and the service business in the region. Subsequently, support the development of short, medium and long term regional strategic business development plans and competitive strategies for all business lines in conjunction with the business line leadership and the Global Marketing and sales excellence group. Report all business activities, including updates around prospective sales, actual orders and sales, customer projects and business opportunities/threats on a regular basis. Develop new and established client relationships. Explore and define new customer segments and potential cross-selling opportunities (i.e. across all Elekta business lines) in conjunction with Global Marketing and sales excellence teams Actively facilitate the interaction with business lines and functions within the Elekta Group to ensure timely delivery of products. Responsible for the regional pricing strategy and customer offered pricing together with the Head of the Business Lines Ultimately responsible for price achievement & margins within the region Responsible to oversee, manage and develop the regional organization\'s sales (incl. account management, clinical sales, regional sales operations, modality sales, product sales specialists and business managers), service and support, installation delivery and development, education and training (incl. applications training), project management, accounts and administration activities within the respective functional setups. Ensure that the regional product/market requirements are fully and accurately reflected and prioritized back into business line plans/product roadmaps through ongoing gap analysis, working with Central Marketing and sales excellence team. Explore/ introduce innovative ways of promoting new and existing products in conjunction with Central Marketing and sales excellence team, and with business lines. Identify and develop opportunities to maximize local after-sales revenue, including service contracts, hardware and software upgrade sales, system replacement strategies etc., in coordination with business lines. Take responsibility for developing all aspects of customer and employee satisfaction driving continuous improvement programs in both areas. Lead the management of service delivery across the Region in coordination with the Central Service excellence team and with business lines. Oversee maintenance of quality systems in the underlying organizations according to ISO9001 and ISO13485 (or other systems, as applicable). Facilitate external audits as required. Oversee and facilitate full and successful undertaking of formal (external) accounting audits and submit audit reports as required. Actively participate in local meetings of the underlying organizations as required for optimal performance. Facilitate the identification, attraction and hiring of personnel with suitable competencies to support budgeted regional & underlying organizations\' market goals. Manage and develop the capabilities (knowledge, skills and experience) of all direct reports. Establish and maintain a creative, dynamic and empowered open work environment integrating the Elekta Values throughout regional business operations. Retain, monitor, coordinate and deploy the operative business needs and promote cross functional and cross organizational collaboration in the region. Ensure that all regional activities and operations are carried out in full compliance with local, state and federal laws/regulations, and according to Elekta quality standards and policies. Communicate and ensure compliance with Elekta\'s Code of Conduct Oversee and support the successful merger & integration of acquired new business with legacy Elekta operations. Work to create an inclusive and productive working environment for all colleagues in the region. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by Chief Commercial Officer AUTHORITIES Create, manage, monitor and review Region InterContinental\'s regional plans, strategies & budgets in line with Elekta\'s overall business strategy, plan & budget and in line with business line plans and agreed regional targets. Sign quotations and customer contracts according to Elekta routines & procedures, as needed. Hire staff according to Elekta Group approval process. Ensure all employees have yearly performance planning and evaluation meetings and annual review in line with Elekta Group policies. Approve expenses up to the designated limit. Authorize purchase requisitions up to a designated limit. Operate in full accordance with the Elekta Code of Conduct as supplied. Support participation as required in Elekta marketing activities such as exhibitions, conferences, congresses, user meetings, printed materials etc. Manage and develop the Intercontinental regional management team. Create, manage and review Region InterContinental\'s regional plans, strategies & budgets in line with Elekta\'s overall business strategy, plan & budget. Lead regional Service teams to develop and deliver customer solutions, with functional direction from Central Service Excellence team and in coordination with business lines. Relevant Knowledge, Skills And Competencies Appropriate regional business experience Minimum 15 years of strong career progression in business development & management of a Sales, Marketing & Service organization in technical, large capital equipment businesses University degree a must, advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA) Solid knowledge of and experience in the Medical Device industry is preferred. Experience from a Western multi-national company is required. Minimum five years of experience in international business Fluency in English is required. Strong negotiating skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required. Strong in building and maintaining customer focus and customer relationships. Strong in building and maintaining successful and effective working relationships with both direct reports and other colleagues within the Group. Skilled speaker and representative in social contacts Results oriented, hands-on style with excellent analytical skills and proven business acumen. Personality based on strong ethical standard, values and good judgement. Persistent, enduring and prepared to make strong personal commitments. Prepared to travel extensively.
