Job Purpose The ZDHC Foundation is seeking an experienced (10+ years) result-oriented Environmental Expert to drive the strategy and activities in the Water Stewardship Competence Centre and related water impact area of the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme. The Subject Matter Expert will provide technical expertise within the Water Stewardship Competence Centre and support other Competence Centres, such as Air and Fibres & Materials, within the ZDHC MRSL Sustainable Chemical Management Framework. Scientific research on current best practices and innovations in water stewardship and wastewater management related to the value chain within the textile and footwear fashion industry and structurally collecting feedback from internal and external stakeholders is crucial in this role. This research will link to the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme guidelines and solutions for continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with ZDHC Contributors, internal stakeholders and partner organisations, the Subject Matter Expert will be a self-starter, entrepreneurial individual who can leverage the subject matter expertise, previous work experience and organisational abilities to drive tangible outcomes. This role provides critical support to a wide range of stakeholders with different backgrounds and perspectives and hence needs to ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement and consensus to be able to drive the creation and adoption of ZDHC tools and guidelines.
