We have an opportunity for an Environment, Health & Safety Leader in Chennai, India.

About you and the role:

The CEC EH&S Leader oversees the implementation of the EH&S management system within the assigned client organization, in order to ensure that the business/site/hub objectives are met and the license to operate is maintained. Defines EH&S staffing and other resource needs and leads or influences the EH&S team to achieve effective EH&S management system implementation. Supervises daily activities of administrative, technical and/or operational employees. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Ensures EH&S work processes, standards and procedures are applied within the units through role assignment and training. Link to the Expertise Centers and obtains clear interpretations for issues.
• Support site-wide EH&S systems as needed. Ensures that the Management of Change for EH&S matters is implemented. Identifies potential business risks. Leads incident reduction efforts. Participates in the investigation of EH&S incidents using the global EH&S process.
• Identify opportunities and facilitate the process to leverage EH&S delivery resources (specialists, technicians, empowered teams). Provide functional coaching to people performing EH&S related roles. Address incident and audit corrective actions that involve systems deficiencies.
• Responsible to the EH&S Responsible Care Leader and Business Operations Leader to plan resources and determine specific business needs. Coach to the EH&S Delivery Technicians to determine specific unit EH&S needs.
• Responsible for seeing that EH&S training is delivered, as appropriate. Assures that the compliance process in the units is in place and functioning. Accountable for cost-effective delivery of EH&S systems through standard work processes and common systems. Assist in non-routine waste disposal as needed.
• Participate and provide data to EH&S audits as defined by the audit process. With the consultation of the EH&S Expertise Centers, determines the applicability of regulatory requirements to their units. Leads the site environmental management system continuous improvement. Acts as Regulatory Affairs focal point for the Site and assures follow up on legal compliance and every permitting related issues. Responsible for ES&S for the site. Coordinates the Site Health Department. Leads the site quality program which aligns to the Business Quality Strategy at the plant/site level through effective administrative leadership of plant technicians and/or technologists.
• Ensures plant Operating Discipline system, procedures and guidelines meet quality system requirements such as Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001 and serves as element focal point for the quality requirements of the Operating Discipline Management System. Coordinates the Site Health Department.

Experience

• Bachelor\'s degree plus EH&S, manufacturing or related experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• 5+ Years of experience
