Job summary



As an Engineering Program Manager you will plan, lead, and manage engineering development programs. You will take an active role in leading a cross functional team, within NetApp\xe2\x80\x99s Customer Experience organization, focused on driving program execution from definition through successful release and transfer to operations. This is a challenging position working in a very fast paced environment, with the opportunity to work collaboratively with like professionals in the Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Global Services functions, and to positively influence greater business outcomes.
  • Provide a leadership role to the core program team of Customer Experience organization, to drive all pertinent issues related to the program life cycle.
  • Specifically manage Agile teams to plan and deliver sprints.
  • Identify and communicate project scope and ensure program milestones and objectives are met.
  • Keep management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
  • Analyze problems and drive solutions involving multiple elements of program planning.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to the company processes and initiate process improvements as needed.



Job requirements



Requirements:
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Agile methodology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, tools, processes and operations planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined metrics requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience working with software development engineers on projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Program Management training or demonstrated experience.
  • Ability to develop longer-range project plans and schedules for individuals or work for a small team.

Responsibility:
  • The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.
  • This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.
  • This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties.
  • Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.
  • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.


Education


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience is required 9 to 11 years of experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex projects.
