Core Security Engineering at Uber is focused on making the production environment secure by default and providing industry-leading products and services to all Uber's production services and infrastructure. As a manager in the Security - Access Management (IAM) team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to build and maintain backend services and solutions supporting infrastructure systems, downstream services, and tools used across Uber.Your responsibilities will include: * Owning critical distributed multi-cloud services at a massive scale.

• Providing and managing systems, services, and libraries for access management and enforcement
• Making long-term decisions on leveraging next-generation infrastructure to scale and operate foundational security services
• Focusing on authentication/authorization and identity & access management
• Creating foundational systems for privileged access management.
• Create a team roadmap and manage in an agile manner.

Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering
• 4+ years of experience in a leadership role.
• Strong hands-on technical skills, including proficiency in one or more programming languages (Go, Java, Python, C/C++) and code reviews.
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, system design, and architecture.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects end-to-end, from design through deployment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a bias for action.
• Experience building and scaling teams while maintaining a culture of technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and best practices. Certifications in Security is a plus

• Working knowledge or familiarity with Identity and Access Management or Authorization.
• Hands-on experience with coding highly available systems.
• Experience with modern development practices (e.g., CI/CD, microservices, cloud platforms like AWS/GCP).
• Experience with AI/ML technologies / frameworks and incorporating them into production systems
• Proven track record of driving technical innovation and solving complex engineering challenges.
