Job Description

A Power Plant Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems that monitor and control power generation, transmission, and distribution processes. Their work ensures efficient and safe operation of power equipment, utilizing instruments, sensors, and automation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Implementation:
Developing and implementing control systems, including (Distributed Control Systems), (Programmable Logic Controllers), and (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, for power plant equipment.
Instrumentation Selection and Installation:
Choosing and installing appropriate instruments for measuring parameters like temperature, pressure, flow, and level. Ensuring proper and maintenance of these instruments.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Diagnosing and resolving issues with control systems, instrumentation, and related equipment. Performing for breakdowns and implementing corrective actions.
System Upgrades and Optimization:
Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, efficiency, and safety through upgrades and automation initiatives.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Maintaining proper documentation for control systems, interlocks, and related equipment.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
Potentially leading a team of engineers and technicians in C&I operations. Coordinating with other teams (electrical, mechanical, operations) for integrated plant performance.
Specific Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Yokogawa, Honeywell, Emerson).
• Strong understanding of power plant processes, including boilers, turbines, and generators.
• Experience with

selection, installation, and maintenance. * Knowledge of relevant standards and codes for instrumentation systems.

• Problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
