Overview MAIN PURPOSE: The role leads effective development of new pack formats, new packaging structures and its translation and scale up to plant for commercialization The role is knit into sound cross functional team working with Operations, Purchase, Planning, Marketing, and Supply chain teams, while setting Packaging material, Processes and finished pack standards, working on the pack meeting consumer/ Brand requirements and financial goals during the development and scale up translation process. Responsibilities KEY ACCOUNTABILITY The role is R & D role supporting Foods and hence accountable for the overall performance and growth of the related brands & business. Requires synergistic approach to support Innovation and productivity agenda by Pack Format innovations, Structure innovations (Shapes, Sealant layer Formulation, polymer recipes, processing, and manufacturing), scale up and related areas, the role\'s contribution is significant. Is responsible to deliver agreed AOP projects that support brand volume through innovations. Impacting growth & business volume through relevant Packaging innovations. KEY MEASURES/METRICS Strong focus on newer packaging technologies suitable to be applied for a range of products. Effective networking within various applied fields of conversion technology in flexibles, semi rigids and barrier technology. Interact with Category teams, consumer research and product development teams for Pack design approvals and Artwork clearances. Driving various packaging productivity projects and creating appropriate value structures meeting the function needs of the product/ formulations. Qualifications KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience and Qualification: Essential: Technical - PG from Indian Institute of packaging, or an Engineering graduate from CIPET or other plastics Institute. Experience of minimum 5 years in field of packaging development in FMCG , with specific 2-4 years of packaging development in Foods is preferred. Location - Gurgaon Technical Skills: Technical skills that support innovations in the specific area - material selection and barrier properties, product packaging interface. Understanding insights and supporting appropriate innovations through application of various packaging technologies such as flexible laminates, thermoforming and decoration process. Thorough understanding on process, machine-material interface, efficiencies, productivity factors through out the manufacturing and supply-chain process. Understanding of secondary packing, collation and palletization techniques. Understanding of various filling systems, product dispensing systems, packing machines - VFFS, HFFS etc. Fair understanding on graphic design and development, different printing processes and its impact on various print surfaces. Good communication skills, team working, influencing skills, creativity and drive for Innovations. Proven track record in maintaining good working relationship with business partners (Marketing, Operations, etc.) Successful commercialization of products Behavioural Attributes: Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and persuasion skills Strong project management and data interpretation/ analysis skills Ability to cross-reference and benchmark best practices across regions Ability to deliver Projects on-time through other team members by exhibiting effective management skills
