Purpose of the position
a.Why the positions exists?
b.What will happen if there is no one in the position (no one performs the work)?
a.The role is responsible for charging system development of CVEV project(s) to achieve the project level quality, cost and timeline targets abiding Gen3 NPI process through core group and extended team.
b.This position exists to drive and execute charging system development activities for CVEV platforms. This position will ensure project tracking and timely delivery with quality. In the absence of this position, the aforementioned requirements will not be fulfilled.
Dimensions of the position
Financial: To manage the project budget, hours booking and support to financial activities of department.
Non-financial: Total reportees under this position: NA
Personal Profile
Education Bachelors / Masters in Electrical / Power Electronics Engineering.
Competencies
1.Knowledge of various charging protocols.
2.Knowledgeable about different types of charging systems, charging connectors and charging modes.
3.Experience with charging data logging and troubleshooting.
4.Knowledge of HV battery system.
5.Knowledge of HV and LV connections for vehicle and battery pack.
6.Knowledge of charging system integration with Vehicle Control Unit.
7.Good knowledge and experience with CAN tools.
8.Knowledge of Functional Safet
Knowledge of PLM system.
10.Knowledge of 4D documentation - DFM, DFS, DFMEA, DFA and 8D problem solving.
11.Knowledge of various charger testing standards, validation and certification.
12.Knowledge of future trends in charging technology (wireless charging).
13.Ability to lead team, define scope, create and review test plans for charger.
14.Lead release process, project documentation, handle field issues.
15.Lead DMU study of the component in vehicle, awareness of structural design, CAE and thermal management.
Relevant Experience: 3-5+ Year Experience in EV technology / Charging system development.
Minimum experience requirement

  • Bachelors / Masters in Electrical / Power Electronics Engineering.
  • 3-5 + Year Experience in EV technology development.
  • Experience in EV charging systems new technology development and testing.
Education

Work Experience

Working knowledge requirement
1.Expertise in EV aggregate development / charging system and energy management of EVs.
2.Hands-on experience of High Voltage charging system development / engineering.
3.Knowledge of HV battery system and its charging requirements.
4.Awareness of product development process.
5.Knowledge of power grid.
6.Awareness of Electric Vehicle systems and sub-systems.
7.Knowledge of various charging protocols (preferably CCS), different types of charging systems, charging connectors and charging modes.
8.Experience with charging data logging, troubleshooting and field issue resolution.
9.Hands-on experience of using High Voltage measurement equipment.
10.Knowledge of High Voltage Safety systems.
11.Knowledge of selection criteria for HV aggregates for charging system, can make / review concept layouts, can prepare / review RFQ, can prepare / review requirement checklist, handle release process, handle field issues.
Key Responsibilities:

4Review charging system development with supplier, review DMU.
5Charging system mechanical and electrical design activities, 3D CAD / 2D drawing review and PLM release.
6Lead field issues resolution, bench and vehicle level testing and status tracking.
7Project tracking / status preparation and review.
8Project documentation RFQ, SOR, TRSO, PDSR, DFMEA, DFA, DFS review and signoff.
9Review CAD work during DMU finalization.
10Support vehicle proto / production build, build issue resolution and documentation review.
Lead / Support to Indenting and PO formalities.
12Lead charging system development activity for inhouse projects.
13Lead / Support localisation, VA/VE, bench test set-up, infrastructure development.
14Create and update project tracking documents.
