Job Description


The role would be a member of the application management teams for the respectiv e production, pre- production, and test functions . This role involves i nvestigat ing issues, develop ing fixes, support ing new releases, perform ing general maintenance and administration tasks . E nhancements through support process changes and performance tuning is also required . Would be required to work across multiple shift rotas according to the monthly roster. Out of hours support overnight and across weekends and Bank Holidays is frequently needed. Good communication skills and business knowledge is required for working with business teams during investigations. Candidates need to be subject matter experts in the underlying technologies used by the applications. They may be required to provide detailed technical support to developers producing bug fixes & new releases of applications. Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritize workload amongst the team. Key Responsibilities Support of the LSEG Post Trade / London Clearing House ( LCH ) applications related to Shared Services Platforms / Clearing Services which are part of London financial market infrastructure. Support Incidents and Problems Analyze problems and decide on suitable resolutions Analyze wider infrastructure issues for potential impacts on underlying applications Apply resolutions following the LCH Change Management procedure Report status to relevant business and IT teams Record progress of incident resolution in ServiceNow Follow documented incident management procedures Monitor ServiceNow for Incidents and Problems Bug fixes and enhancements to LCH products Analyze and update system monitoring tools for current health and potential future points of failure Identify longer term fixes for application bugs and small functionality enhancement requests Creating metrics to measure the effectiveness of the system Implement application fixes Update Bitbucket with source code changes where necessary Update relevant WIKI/ documentation with changes Provide input to the Release process for new releases Work to the ITIL standard following LCH policies Maintain working relationship with business teams Should be willing to work on Morning, Day or Night shift based on UK time according to the monthly roster Out of hours support / On-call support Be available for overnight support of production services to ensure successful completion of processing Respond to overnight calls and deal with issues Support weekend releases and maintenance work Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises Assist in project related work Carry out requirements as defined Provide advice during bug fixes, design and implementation Act as subject matter expert for the application and infrastructure domains Quality check potential changes Review development release packages prior to production deployment Provide benefit of experience in the business area and application support PERSON SPECIFICATION Education: Degree educated, preferably in a technical discipline Required s kills and e xperience Hands on Experience in Preferable to have Control M experience. Minimum 2 years of e xperience in SysAdmin / Infrastructure / Application Support Strong UNIX /Linux System Administration skills Kno wledge of Network Diagnostics, DNS Servers, Web Servers and firewall connectivity analysis (Preferred) Windows Directory p ermissions management Strong O racle D atabase/SQL skills Functional knowledge of Red Hat JBoss EAP (or equivalent Web Server technology) Scripting ability ( S hell scripting , Python ) Experience with IBM MQ Working knowledge of Hands-on in version control repository (Ideally bitbucket) Exposure to Jenkins, CI /CD, Ansible and AWS Cloud Technologies will be an added advantage Person Specification Experience of working in an IT support team ( application / infrastructure) Excellent analytical skills, Attention to d etail and problem-solving abilities. Strong technical background in the core technologies with multiple years of experience. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to IT and business teams and to senior management Experience in Financial or an investment banking environment. Familiarity with financial products and terminology .
