Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for designing and executing the digital solutions across the Talent function(s) that they are responsible for. Delivering an integrated and optimized solution in-line with the overarching organization strategy and roadmap. The Functional Design Lead would also ensure that the components, modules, integration(s) and data for our Talent systems are scalable, fit for purpose and specific to meet the requirements of the Digital Talent strategy and functional roadmaps.
With an emphasis on automation, keeping things simple, utilizing our Cloud at Core philosophy, the role will ensure best in class design principles are followed and through ongoing collaboration with other Digital Talent teams deliver on the key priorities of change and enhancement fort that talent function.
Essential Functions:


  • Lead the Digital Solution design team for Core HR (Employee Central, Fieldglass and Comp) and responsible for
  • To include identification, requirements gathering, solution design (including working with process), Proof of Concept, Test and UAT for individual projects or programs of development and design of new and improved functionality across the talent functional area
  • Working with vendor platforms providers. E.g., SAP, SuccessFactors and IBM) to drive and influence product change, improvement and development of functionality to meet EY current and future needs
  • Work in close partnership with cross functional Talent teams to consider ways to optimising function performance (i.e., help optimise function technology change opportunities).
  • Continuously identify and introduce new functionalities to process owners - within Cloud solutions, working with Solution Enablement team to design, test, pilot, scale, release and adopt.
  • Work with Enablement team to understand vendor release implications for current and up and coming changes in development pipeline.
  • Works with Transition team to support transition of functional changes to business users and support functions
  • Partner and collaborate with Talent EY Tech IT
  • Assess and contribute inputs to business case development for new or enhanced system development requests also considering wider scope of the change for example downstream functional / cross module implications
  • Design & define functionality and integration requirements together with the data Architecture team and functional process owners.
  • Work closely with Data team and Reporting to ensure current and future data needs have the correct rigour and reporting capability
  • Work closely with Technology colleagues to provide subject matter expertise to ensure successful integration of systems during functional design and solution enablement.
  • Design proof of concepts and design roadmaps for introducing new technologies and complementing Digital Talent Strategy / Roadmaps.
  • Partner across the Digital Solution Enablement team to deliver the best-fit design for technology-enabled quality and efficiency improvements within Talent
  • Drive and execute a culture of continuous solution improvement of solutions by identifying and prioritizing digital enablement needs, defining the requirements for third party delivery and aligning to the Digital Talent Functional Roadmaps.
  • Responsible for the review, design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-wide design and functionality standard and ensuring that quality and efficiency criteria are maintained.
  • Accountable for the definition, delivery, and development of internal operational process to enable the smooth running of the functional design team in context with strategic planning, design, budgeting / cost / financial management, prioritisation and delivery planning functional performance management, knowledge management and communications.
  • Monitor external best practices and what is up and coming in the talent space and listening to internal feedback, identify and propose opportunities for enhancement to the functional design and architecture practices, models and processes.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and knowledge in how functional design and solutioning operates. Understand the digital landscape in-tandem with the Talent and organization strategy, people and operational matters and make decisions to drive and optimize functional delivery standards.
  • For allocated processes make decisions to define, delivery and continuously improve the process.
  • Leverage and review data and information to monitor Digital design performance against agreed metrics. (e.g., cost / headcount / efficiency of service delivery)
  • Share market insights and review findings with key stakeholders/networks influencing change as required.
  • As the leader of the Solution Design for that function, proactively participate in meetings, collaborate with core and extended teams to ensure effective execution of digital agenda and priorities.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Exceptional business acumen – ability to understand Digital landscape within Core HR (Employee Central, Fieldglass and SF Compensation) and to consider the functionality and integration requirements inline with the capabilities required to implement strategic priorities.
  • Bring deep knowledge of Functional design and solution related market trends, leading practices, services, and solutions.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead effectively virtual teams and networks across diverse and dispersed geographies.
  • Proactive consulting skills that drive business impact; able to strategically interpret functional / technological requirements and, where prioritized, co-create the most relevant & pragmatic approach.
  • Strong teaming skills; collaborate effectively across talent ecosystem, within the digital team, the firm at-large and strategic vendor teams.
  • Strong communication skills with strong awareness of cultural nuances when applying a global mindset to working effectively with others
  • Strong ability to set vision and priorities, driving execution within budget and effective time frames
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - the ability to operate within budget and effective time frames.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to track and interpret trending directions for Functional design and solution and also to identify potential future options.
  • Significant ability to cope with ambiguity; to drive change and performance outcomes in a complex and agile environment.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with extended teams to ensure effective execution of technology implementation, drive quality and performance standards
  • Work closely with the Leads across the Digital and wider Talent Functions to ensure the provision of services that support business and functional delivery.
  • Lead / manage a team of design specialists responsible for functional execution, also build skills and capabilities of the team.
  • Develop digital capabilities and define key digital competencies for the team, and also ensure the provision of learning opportunities to advance skills
  • Ability to develop people, skills in coaching, mentoring, and teaching on the job
  • Independently maintain and leverage (when appropriate) an internal network, including effective partnerships with senior stakeholders, across EY practices / functions that will enable personal effectiveness in the position.
  • Effectiveness in building trust, respect, and cooperation among teams

Other Requirements:

  • Due to global nature of the role; travel and willingness to work alternative hours will be required.
  • Due to global nature of the role; English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication will be required.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Educated to degree level

Certification Requirements:

  • SF EC Certified preferred
  • Higher professional or masters qualification in a related discipline is preferred, not required

Experience:

  • Significant experience in a Employee Central, Fieldglass and SF Compensation functional design or Digital solutions role
  • Experience of developing and implementing operational standards and processes to achieve required outcomes
    Experience of having worked on digital design roadmap or digital solution development initiatives
  • Experience of developing digital capability, defining key digital competencies for the team, and ensuring provision of Learning to advance skills
  • Demonstrable experience of collaborating with talent colleagues to understand needs/requirements and of shaping digital solutions
  • Demonstrable experience of working with third party vendors / external system implementors to deliver Digital solutions from design to enablement
  • Experience of leading and participating in global dispersed teams to enhance services, processes, and standards
  • Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, ambiguous, stressful environments to deliver required results
  • Demonstrable experience of anticipating issues and challenges and proactively working to navigate challenges
  • Experience of conducting internal and external research and analysis, providing best practices and insights to drive improvements
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked to lead or provide SMR advice to achieve successful change outcomes
