General Information: Business Information: The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy\'s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries. Mission Statement: General IT Applications Development includes analysis, programming, and configuration of end user applications and/or systems software including Analyzing detailed business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the application. Coding internally developed applications and/or configuring commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using programming, scripting, and database languages. Supporting application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex. Your Responsibilities: Product development activities: Review and familiarize themselves with existing controller product firmware and software. Gain understanding of existing program structures. Programming support for detection and resolution of software bugs existing in current product software. Programming of new functions and feature sets (embedded firmware, PC software and other GUIs) based on requirements provided by product team. Ensure compatibility of any newly written software with existing product functionality. Employ rigorous testing procedures to validate as such. Maintain revision control details for all product software files. Produce detailed releases notes on all software releases. Product Maintenance: Develop functional testing requirements for products/components and implement periodic testing program. Identify clear performance guidelines. Ensure products maintain compliance with performance requirements and relevant standards. Initiate type testing as required with 3ph tester. Assist in customer problem recreation, issue identification, and issue resolution. Testing and validation of customer use cases using either software or hardware-based test scenarios. Your Background: Candidate Key Technical Requirements: Embedded software programmer with preferred experience in control relays, industrial/utility measuring devices, and metering devices. PC / Windows based application programming experience. E.g., Applications that can communicate to field devices (TCP, WIFI, USB etc.) and present data via PC applications in a user-friendly GUI. IoT Architecture Experience is most desirable. Candidate should have background of handling power electronics product IGBT based inverter/ converter/ active filter etc. familiarization about reactive power compensation. Hardware software interface, testing of product understanding the logic of software and modify based on requirement of field application. Highly desirable additional skills: Proven experience in C/C++ development environments. HTML/CSS/JS of web-based application development skills. DNP3 and/or other remote communication protocol knowledge. E.g., Modbus, IEC61850 Advantageous skills: PCB and Electronics design experience and/or fundamental knowledge. Experience in cyber security IEC614233, encryption and secure programming methods / applications. International collaboration experiences an added advantage. AWS IoT Core or similar added advantage. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
