Position Summary

This person's primary responsibility will be to support the hosting of e-commerce applications primarily running on Citrix Netscalers (Load Balancing), Apache Web Servers, and JBoss application servers with servers located in US, EMEA, and APAC. This support includes new integrations, troubleshooting support, performing system upgrades, performing security remediations, and other miscellaneous administration tasks.

The EC Operations engineer will work closely with many SMEs throughout the organization including network teams, security teams, firewall team, Unix team, and application teams.

The engineer will also work closely with the Experian Global Operations Center and change management teams for changes, problems, incidents, escalations, etc.

Responsibilities

EC Operations Engineer would be responsible for the support of existing e-commerce hosting as well as new integrations. This includes:

Provide Global Incident Support (US/EMEA/APAC) 24 x 7 (Approximately 800+ Unix/Linux servers globally.).

Participate in incident, RCA, CAB, TIR meetings as required.

Provide Apache support for installation and configuration of instances, proxies, rules, modules, recompiles, upgrades of Apache version, startup, general troubleshooting, other miscellaneous updates, etc.

Provide JBoss support for installation and configuration of instances, JBoss version upgrades, tuning, startup, deployments, and other miscellaneous updates to configuration.

Provide Citrix Netscaler support for VIP creation, services, policies, load balancing, and general troubleshooting.

Provide general e-commerce troubleshooting of all web apps that traverse through EC manage infrastructure. This requires good knowledge and experience with browser debug (developer tools), network, firewall, reading logs, monitoring tools (Splunk/Dynatrace), etc.

Support / remediate all SSL protocol and cipher updates on EC infrastructure as required

Remediate all security related vulnerabilities of EC estate resulting from pen testing.

Support E-Commerce related server patching by coordinating with app teams and server teams.

Qualifications

Experience and Education Required

Mid to Senior level experience with JBoss EAP 6.x/7.x. This includes new builds, configuration changes, upgrades, JDKs, deployments, tuning, security remediations, etc

Mid to Senior level experience working with Apache 2.x.x. This includes new builds, configuration changes to existing proxies, upgrades, tuning, and security remediations.

Experience working with load balancing and policies. Citrix Netscaler skills would be preferred.

Good experience and familiarity troubleshooting e-commerce applications (browser debug, log analysis (local log or Splunk), APM monitoring tools (Dynatrace), network, firewalls, etc.

Good knowledge and experience working with SSL certs, protocols, and ciphers.

Strong experience working in Unix/Linux.

Scripting skills preferred (shell/Perl/Python)

The position will require being in an on-call rotation to support incidents.

Familiarity/knowledge with SSO (Single Sign-On) applications. Experience in this area would be a big plus, preferably Okta.
