Attend electrical complaints and breakdowns promptly to minimize guest inconvenience
Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical installations
Maintain lighting systems, power points, switches, fans, and appliances
2. Power Supply & Backup Systems
Monitor and maintain
DG sets, UPS systems, inverters, and solar power systems
(if applicable)
Ensure smooth changeover during power failures
Coordinate with the electricity board (KSEB) for supply-related issues
3. Safety & Compliance
Follow electrical safety standards and statutory regulations
Ensure proper earthing, insulation, and load management
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) while working
Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or near-miss incidents immediately
4. Outdoor & Landscape Electrical Works
Maintain pathway lighting, garden lights, facade lighting, and signage illumination
Ensure weatherproofing of outdoor electrical fittings
Support event setups requiring temporary electrical connections
5. Coordination & Documentation
Coordinate with housekeeping and front office for guest room access
Work closely with other engineering team members (plumbing, carpentry, HVAC)
Maintain logs for maintenance, breakdowns, and spare parts usage
Assist during audits, inspections, and emergency situations
6. Inventory & Cost Control
Monitor electrical spares, tools, and consumables
Raise requisitions for required materials through the engineering department
Avoid wastage and ensure efficient use of electrical resources
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and fault-finding
Ability to read basic electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
Problem-solving and quick response during breakdowns
Good communication and coordination skills
Guest-friendly attitude and professional conduct
Qualifications & Experience
ITI / Diploma in Electrical
or equivalent certification
Valid electrical license as per Kerala regulations preferred
2-5 years experience
in hotels, resorts, or large residential / commercial facilities
Experience in
DG sets, solar, or inverter systems
is an advantage
