Job Description

An Electrical Design Engineer designs and implements electrical systems for power substations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Conceptualize, design, and develop electrical substation layouts and systems, including primary and secondary systems for transmission and distribution.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Calculations and Studies:
Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies, as well as calculations for grounding, DC loading, AC auxiliary power loading, bus sizing, lighting, and cable sizing.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work collaboratively with project teams, project managers, and clients to ensure timely project delivery and address technical issues.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards, and address any technical issues that arise during construction.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to substations, providing technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical networks and substations, substation high voltage plant and equipment, relevant standards and codes (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI), and industry practices.
Software Proficiency:
Experience with software like SEE, AutoCAD 2D/3D, ETAP and Revit is an advantage.
Must have hands-on experience in High Voltage systems up to 765 kV, along with proven exposure in Power and Renewable Energy projects.
