Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - EHS (Site Safety Lead - Wind & Solar Projects)
Location:
Gujarat (Project Sites)
Experience:
12+ years (Mandatory experience in Wind & Solar project safety)
Qualification:
BTech / BE in Engineering (Mandatory)
(ADIS / NEBOSH / IOSH certification preferred)
Job Purpose:
To lead and implement end-to-end EHS and site safety management for Wind and Solar renewable energy projects, ensuring zero harm, statutory compliance, and a strong safety culture across project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Safety Leadership
Act as the Site Safety Lead for Wind and Solar project execution sites in Gujarat.
Drive implementation of EHS policies, systems, and procedures at site.
Promote a proactive safety culture among employees, contractors, and OEM partners.
Project Safety Management
Oversee safety during civil, electrical, mechanical, erection, and commissioning activities.
Ensure safety compliance during high-risk activities such as heavy lifting, turbine erection, working at height, hot works, and electrical energization.
Conduct HIRA / JSA, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and permit-to-work systems.
Contractor & OEM Safety Management
Monitor and enforce safety compliance of EPC contractors, OEMs, and subcontractors.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and site walkthroughs.
Ensure closure of non-conformities and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Statutory & Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable EHS laws, Factory Act, Electricity Act, and local statutory requirements.
Liaise with government authorities during inspections and audits.
Maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation.
Incident Management & Reporting
Lead investigation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
Drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Prepare and share safety MIS, dashboards, and reports with HO.
Training & Awareness
Conduct regular safety training, mock drills, and emergency response exercises.
Build safety capability among site teams and contractor workforce.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong hands-on experience in Wind & Solar project safety.
In-depth knowledge of erection safety, WAH, lifting operations, and electrical safety.
Strong understanding of EHS statutory requirements.
Ability to influence, enforce, and lead safety practices at site.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
BTech / BE in Engineering (Mandatory).
12+ years of experience in renewable energy project safety (Wind & Solar).
Experience at AM / DM level or equivalent.
Willingness to be based at Gujarat project sites.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with large IPP / EPC renewable energy companies.
Experience handling multi-site project safety.
Exposure to safety audits by OEMs and third-party agencies.
