The India country EH&S leader in collaboration with the country leadership team ensures and monitors safety in the workplace and compliance with all environmental requirements. Including the application and communication of health, safety, environmental procedures and practices consistent with established safety and environmental regulations. Responsibilities will include working closely with site EHS leaders to support and encourage consistency in EHS programs. The job holder will also provide direct EH&S leadership for the India Shared Service location. The position will be based at the India Shared Service building in Bangalore and report to the Senior Director and Controller (India and Middle East) with functional EH&S reporting to the Corporate EH&S Leader for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Responsibilities: . Build and maintain a positive culture of engagement in EH&S. . Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental legislation. Monitor legislation changes and ensure any new requirements are implemented. . Participate in reviews of third-party compliance audits in collaboration with site and business unit EH&S leaders. . Maintain an effective EH&S management system for the shared service location. . Develop EH&S strategy and recommend EH&S goals and objectives to improve performance for the shared service location. . Ensure all TE safety initiatives and programs are deployed to achieve EH&S goals and strategy for the shared service location. . Ensure that EH&S risks are assessed, quantified and prioritized. Ensure they are controlled and managed. . Communicate with all levels in the organization on EH&S to engage with, influence and partner with the shared service location leader and country leadership team. . In collaboration with business unit EH&S leaders assist with auditing and evaluating EH&S performance of the EH&S management systems at sites in India. Participate in EH&S inspections and audits as required. Direct responsibility for audits and inspections at the shared service location. . Deliver EH&S training to site EH&S leaders, business leaders and employees in consultation with business unit EH&S leaders. Direct responsibility for EH&S training at the shared service location. . Establish teams and provide leadership for driving EH&S improvements, e.g. chair India EH&S Council. . Participate and support EH&S leaders in incident investigations and advise management on corrective actions. . Trend analysis of EH&S incidents for India and advise business unit EH&S leaders and India leadership team on follow up. . Be an active member and share best practices with other members of the TE global EH&S community. . Report all EH&S data as required by TE and applicable legal requirements. . Ensure additional EH&S expertise and resources are identified as needed and requests made to country leadership team. . Encourage management recognition of behaviors and results which drive EH&S improvements. . Advise and support business unit EH&S leaders and the country leadership team on EH&S aspects on TE acquisitions and assist in developing and implementing acquisition EH&S integration plans. Desired Candidate Profile: . Degree, post graduate qualification or equivalent qualification in a safety or environmental discipline. . Professional EH&S Certification preferred, e.g. Chartered Safety Practitioner, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, etc. . 8+ years EH&S experience, at least 3 of which must be in an EH&S leadership role preferably in a multi-national company. . Experience in a technical, engineering or manufacturing role preferred. . Demonstrated communication, negotiation, influencing, collaboration and team building skills are required. . Thorough knowledge of EH&S legal requirements. . Demonstrated ability in conducting EH&S audits and inspections.
