Guidance and planning:

Help students set realistic goals and create personalized plans to achieve them.

Information and resources:

Provide information on various educational pathways, institutions, and programs, and connect students with relevant resources and referrals.

Application assistance:

Assist students with the application process, which may include writing essays and preparing for interviews.

Progress monitoring:

Monitor and evaluate student progress, making adjustments to their plans as needed.

Collaboration:

Work with parents, teachers, and other educational institutions to support the student's development.

Professional development:

Stay current with the latest educational trends, policies, and procedures.
Key skills and qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong listening and empathy skills. Good organizational and analytical skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and build rapport with students. Knowledge of various academic and career options. Familiarity with relevant counseling principles and assessment tools is often required.
