Summary:
As the Enterprise Data Management Strategy & Operations Leader you will become a key member of Finastra’s Enterprise Data Management function (EDM) within the Information Technology team (IT). The mission of the EDM function is to enable Finastra’s core business processes through a foundation of trustworthy data that is well defined, highly integrated, effectively governed, and readily accessible.
You will report to the Global Head of Enterprise Data Management and be responsible for defining and driving implementation of the data management strategy with an initial focus on centralized data provisioning, data controls, master data management, and executive-level coordination.

Working with the Head of EDM, this leader will design and implement components of the data management strategy, built on the following principles:

• 
  Provide a centralized location to research, discover, and access Finastra’s most critical data assets
• 
  Provide centralized master data sets to foster consistency across business and corporate functions
• 
  Provide transparency into the quality, sources, and ownership of data enabling core business processes
• 
  Implement and monitor controls to provide enhanced care for Finastra’s most critical data

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• 
  Assist the Head of Enterprise Data Management in publishing a data management strategy with formal implementation plan including centralized data provisioning, data supply chain mapping, enhanced data controls, and master data management
• 
  Develop and drive implementation of remediation plans with data and application owners where data fails to meet required standards
• 
  Drive internal and external communication with stakeholders, improving transparency, and federating information through the data management council
• 
  Identify roadblocks and guide the team to remove the impediments by challenging the status quo or right person to remove the impediment.
• 
  Help cultivate a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on self-resolution and problem solving.
• 
  Work independently and lead cross-functional teams to solve complex data problems in innovative ways
• 
  Collaborate with key stakeholders across Finastra to achieve the goals defined in the data management strategy

Knowledge and Skills:

• 
  A high degree of professional confidence and credibility with the presence and communication skills to represent IT-related concepts
• 
  Familiarity in the use of metadata management, data quality, and data stewardship tools and platforms
• 
  Experience working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation
• 
  Ability to use judgement to select evaluation criteria and identify innovative solutions
• 
  Hands-on operational management and change management.
• 
  Proven track record in operating large data management programs
• 
  Knowledge of Cloud based big data frameworks such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Purview
• 
  Experience in managing enterprise data assets in a large, complex organization
• 
  Should be familiar with cloud and data management trends, open-source projects, and methodologies
• 
  Ability to analyze complex situations and to derive workable actions
• 
  Ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value to the company
• 
  Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
• 
  Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and to lead virtual cross-cultural, cross-border teams
• 
  Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
• 
  Good written and verbal communication

Experience and Education:

• 
  8-10 years of experience working in program management, data transformation, information technology or data management
• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
