Global Finance & Business Management ("GF&BM") India is a combined Line of Business-aligned (LOB-aligned) finance & business support team located in India and is part of JPMorgan's global capability center (GCC). We are part of the Office of the CFO (OCFO) organization within JPMorgan, which has 13000+ people across the globe, majority of whom are tasked with managing the firm's Finance function, responsible for reporting quarterly earnings and complying with regulatory requirements along with managing the firm's capital.

GF&BM India was established in September 2002 and currently we have a network of more than 3400+ professionals based out of our Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices who support four main "pillars" of work - Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations and Business Client & Products. The teams in India are aligned to the respective LOBs that they support which include Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), Commercial Banking (CB), Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) and Corporate/Firmwide functions. This role of ED, Consumer Banking Finance is part of CCB (Consumer and Community Banking) which is the retail banking arm of JP Morgan Chase & Co.. With 4800+ branches and close to 16k ATMs and Deposits over a trillion, JP Morgan is a leading bank in the retail space offering a range of products to customers under the brand name of Chase.

This role represents the lead for Consumer Banking (CB) Finance team would be responsible for managing multiple sub groups / teams in the CB Finance team that support diverse finance functions including Revenue and Expense Budgeting, Forecasting, Regulatory submissions (CCAR, ICAAP, Risk Appetite, Resolution and Recovery), Field performance reporting, Financial Modelling, Branch Score support and Central PnA for CB. The role involves front ending with the CB CFO and his leadership teams in US while reporting locally into the India lead for Consumer & Business Banking Finance teams.

Individual responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of high quality work product across multiple functions aligned to the CFO organization supporting processes including Management reporting, Modelling, Performance reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting and others
  • Proactively analyze data to create business insights to improve business performance
  • Support business decisioning with best in class financial analysis and business cases
  • Review Budgeting methodology and Budgeting processes to identify and action on opportunities for refinements leading to better quality of output while making processes efficient.
  • Develop strong business knowledge and facilitate support of analytical requests across teams and expand coverage of bespoke analysis
  • Lead transformation efforts for automating manual intensive work within the team leveraging strategic tools of the firm.
  • Drive report / process rationalization to eliminate / revamp deliverables based on relevance & value of output.
Team Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in hiring, training and retaining top talent
  • Work closely with stakeholders in building book of work for new roles and manage transitions effectively.
  • Effective stakeholder management through understanding expectations of various US leads and ensuring that the sub teams are meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Create strong backup structure for all deliverables and drive succession planning for all leads in the group

Skills / Competencies Needed/Education Qualifications:
  • CA/MBA (Finance) with 15+ years of post-qualification experience with specialized experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Finance, Field Performance reporting.
  • Strong team/ people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and partnering skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate leadership and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously within team environment
  • Ability to research issues/problems and provide a 'solution-based' approach
  • Adaptable to change and ambiguity in the work environment
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (i.e. use of pivot tables, macros, arrays, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of Essbase
