Responsibilities: Dispatch drivers and monitor their progress throughout the day. Plan and coordinate routes for drivers to ensure timely delivery. Plan daily loads, manage equipment for pickups and deliveries. Scheduling pickup and delivery appointments for drivers. Ensure all units are on schedule for delivery and pickup. Communicating with customers and responding to their queries (via phone, email or fax) in a professional and timely manner. Communicating with brokers, carriers, and customers Shipping/Receiving administration Customer service Coordinate orders between sales and drivers Directing and organizing logistics activities that may include obtaining shipping rates or negotiating with service providers. Ensuring carrier compliance with company policies and procedures. Continually update customers as to the status of each order as required and solve customer-specific freight issues. Communicate with drivers, Customers, and internal staff regarding and delays or issues. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time. Edit orders as needed Print bills of lading and supporting paperwork Verify quantity and items on bills of lading to pick tickets, noting discrepancies Create reports Understand the needs of the customers Assist with other administrative tasks as required terms. Send daily reports to customers verifying drivers for pickups. Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information. Ensure proper safety procedures are being carried out.
