We are embarking on a significant transformation journey that will support GSK in becoming a top-quartile data-enabled organization. The Director, User Experience is accountable for providing leadership and direction of a User Experience Design team for GSK supporting all Global Function systems & processes which are primarily internal for employees. They will also provide some capability and support to our Business Units to support our external interactions with customers, vendors, suppliers, and patients where there is a specific need. This leadership role will help Product Teams and the wider GSK business to improve the user experience, storytelling capability, accessibility, productivity, and effectiveness of our systems & processes. They will need to have a strong understanding of Design, champion various techniques such as Design thinking, in order to mature awareness of customer needs, the value of design and in taking a product mindset when it comes to our users and customers. They will leverage industry best practice to bring new ideas & innovations into GSK and develop new or adapt existing capabilities to find creative solutions to difficult and challenging problems. They will lead a small team of multi-disciplined UX practitioners & storytellers to manage and grow a pipeline of demand focused on GSK's ambitions & strategy and focus on the highest value initiatives for our employees. They will work in partnership with product owners & senior leaders in Tech and the Business to reduce User Experience debt in product backlogs and track User Experience improvements across the organization. The leader of the UX practice will be passionate about accessibility, helping to make GSK's products and services easier to use and accessible for all. Leadership/People Development: Lead the Global Experience Design Team for GSKs Global Functions, develop the Strategy & best practices, and be a thought leader in developing ambitious plans to address the most pressing employee experience challenges. Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with senior leaders across Tech and Business in partnership with Product owners to improve the end-to-end employee and customer experience of our enterprise systems, processes & services. Develop a strong understanding of what users require through thorough research, problems to be solved and outcome-based, measurable solutions Develop a strong internal network: Build and develop relationships with business and tech senior stakeholders, product teams, UX teams in other parts of the business and actively seek out opportunities to support initiatives that will improve the employee experience Project Management: Transform a strong pipeline of projects into outcome-based solutions that deliver tangible value, taking an pragmatic & agile approach. Storytelling: Nurture and develop a culture of storytelling across the organization. Help bring GSK's culture and commitment to patients to life, by using stories to persuade and influence others. Showcase the value of design by storytelling, showing where and how design has impacted patients. Scope: Apply UX resources & capability to GSKs Global Functions which includes (but not exclusively) Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal, Ethics & Compliance and Tech. Provide UX resources (where required) to our business units to support our Supply Chain, R&D and Commercial needs including some external facing engagements. Learning & Development: Take a leadership role in development of education pathways & capability build, to drive greater understanding and adoption of design thinking & employee/customer experience thinking across Tech Design Excellence: Become the go to team for all customer/employee experience design challenges, accessibility standards, usability measurement and good design practices. We are looking for a Professional and if you have these skills, we would like to speak to you. 15+ years of experience and Leadership of multi-capability teams in User Experience and Design Broad experience across different industry sectors particularly Life Sciences Leadership in addressing end-to-end employee experiences with SaaS or COTS based applications Industry recognized qualifications in relevant Degree subject or in UX Certifications Broad strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset Ability to drive design thinking workshops, derive customer value and tangible benefits from UX through KPI's and other metrics Awareness and experience with UX & Storytelling tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Axure, Illustrator, Adobe XD Experience in application of the spectrum of UX techniques and tools from User Research, Customer Journeys and Prototyping through UI/UX/Visual Design and Usability Testing Ability to quantify business value-add and a passion for evangelism in design Ability to deep dive on different challenges & technologies to understand the problem statements and lead and direct the team to clear deliverable outcomes Why GSK Our values and expectations are at the heart of everything we do and form an important part of our culture.
