Objective-

Director \xe2\x80\x93 Strategy and Commercial excellence has three core responsibilities Strategy, Business Development and Commercial excellence with the main objective of developing and implementing commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth and profitability.

What will you do

There are three main responsible areas of the role:

Strategy

  • Leads the Strategic planning process for India including converting internal and external analysis into critical insights that will validate (or alter) Vision, Strategic Plan and initiatives.
  • Partner with India Managing Director and India leadership team in development of growth strategy, building a roadmap covering key initiatives to deliver the strategy and leading some of the key initiatives while providing PMO support for others.
  • Drive a culture of quality and focus by priortising initiatives across the organisation to ensure the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s resources are deployed on the most critical initiatives that support long term growth/goals.
Business Development
  • Lead and develop the BD strategic plan for India
  • Collaborate with BU/Marketing teams and identify adjacencies, localisation opportunities and portfolio gaps and lead BD initiatives in partnership with the APAC BD/Commercial team to deliver the required market appropriate products and fill the gaps.
  • Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of the healthcare/med device market including industry trends and emerging areas of opportunities
  • Perform market opportunity assessment, prepare business case & identify targets of interest
  • Execute transactions including negotiations with third parties, overseeing the drafting of related agreements, integration planning and securing internal and external approvals - lead the negotiation to obtain the best terms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective acquisition targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investment bank partners in India
  • Develop and maintain relationships with APAC, Divisional & Corporate BD teams
  • Collaborate with APAC/Divisional BD teams on global M&A deals as required
  • Act as the India lead for business integrations to successfully integrate the acquired business ensuring a successful go live
  • Develop and maintain the India integration process & playbook in line with the APAC process/playbook
Commercial Excellence/Commercial
  • Partner with the VP/GM in identifying organizational, tactical and strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and profitability of the organisation
  • Identify key capabilities, capability gaps and support/lead development of those capabilities
  • Work closely with other regional/global commercial teams to understand "best practices" and implement those in India
  • Collaborate with the commercial leaders/sales & marketing teams to
  • identify growth opportunities and build plans/proposals to tap into those opportunities
  • identify required customer solutions and lead development and implementation of those solutions including Flex Financial program
  • Develop market intelligence capabilities for India business to provide insights to the India leadership team and drive a culture of data driven decision making
  • Commercial Execution initiatives: performance management (metrics, KPIs, etc.), sales training, CRM, Provides oversight for incentive plan design and performance
  • Sales intelligence \xe2\x80\x93 Partner with Finance and commercial teams to Develop critical measurement categories, specific metrics and outputs aligned to divisions business requirements (forecast management in alignment with Finance and Business Leaders, sales performance measurement, deal and opportunities pipeline metrics, sales analysis/reporting/dashboards, KPI\xe2\x80\x99s)
  • Sales Force Effectiveness: Sales productivity analysis/insights to help improve the overall productivity of our sales team
  • Lead the Medical education, Sales training and External/Marketing Comms team and continue to build/strengthen our capabilities in this area
  • Build team engagement, develop staff (directly and indirectly), and leverage performance management systems to reach business objectives; includes goal setting, monitoring, coaching, feedback and performance review
What will you need

Knowledge / Skills / Attributes

Academic qualifications / degree & relevant prior experience:

Key strengths / personal attributes for the role:
  • Overall minimum 10-12 years of experience
  • 5 years of relevant industry experience including in management consulting would be a advantage
  • 3-5 years of leadership level experience or experience of working with C-Suite in Strategy, BD and Comm Ex
  • Preferred Work Experience \xe2\x80\x93 Management consulting in Healthcare/Med Device or Strategy/Commercial/Marketing experience in Medical devices, Life Sciences industry.
  • Educational qualification \xe2\x80\x93 MBA from a Top/reputed B School
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving character
  • Very hands-on, Process driven and ability to stay focused and delivering high quality outcomes
  • Team player, Inclusive and collaborative
  • Forceful in decision making process
  • Good communicator
