Job Description


Translates business unit long term objectives into an actionable business development plan. Works with staff and in alliance with sales and marketing managers to set strategy for growth in key customer areas and target markets where there is currently none or little penetration. Manages project teams to put plans into action. Tracks progress of plan and is responsible for it's success.
The Strategy & Business Operations Associate Director will work with GGM India senior leadership to refine the Market Strategy and run the management cadence for business. The individual will liaise with both local and global teams of professionals to support the strategic initiatives that ensure both the acceleration of market expansion and the establishment of foundational sales effectiveness across all GGM India portfolios.
This is a pivotal role in helping leadership identify and drive strategic programs and new initiatives forward. The successful individual provides consultative and constructive support for the development and deployment of best practices to optimize outcomes of multiple sales teams. The Strategy & Business Operations Associate Director will leverage data and analysis to drive revenue growth and will be able to pivot between being both strategic and operational to execute on initiatives in a collaborative and agile manner.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Strategy and Business Development (approx. time spent 40%):

  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competition to identify, size and monetize business opportunities
  • Drive, coordinate, monitor, and program-manage GGM India strategic priorities. Leverage strong analytical and project management skills for timely delivery with a focus/management of key interdependencies.
  • Drive ad hoc analysis for priority initiatives and structure solutions, and drive resolution of issues/initiatives including exec-ready communications while partnering closely with internal Wolters Kluwer leadership team.
  • Support in the preparation of the Vision and Strategic Plan, Quarterly and Monthly Divisional Meeting with the Global Executive Team specifically ensuring the data and market insights that support understanding of performance outcomes and further investment

Operations (approx. time spent 50%):
  • Collaborate with Finance on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions
  • Working with the management, lead the initial proposal of annual goals, budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes. Identify and manage the critical success criteria, KPI’s for productivity
  • Standardize processes and drive improvements to the reporting tools, methods utilized by the team to increase the availability and granularity of actionable data to GGM India leadership
  • Lead the team who manages development and provision of routine and ad-hoc analytic reports to senior management regarding Business Development initiatives, customer segment performance, performance against goals, etc.
  • Manage the administration and execution of the team’s goals, measurement of goal attainment, evolving and driving various sales processes involving alignment between multiple teams
    Direct change management programs focused on improving sales and coaching best practices while adapting to business requirements that may shift over time
  • Offer end-to-end solutions including process analysis and design, requirements planning, business case development, analytics support and administration support
  • Provides insight and consultative support for the most effective ways for the given role(s) to position themselves with the customers for maximum effectiveness and ROI
  • Manage GGM India Sales Operations & Sales effectiveness function
  • Manage GGM India Production & Administration function

TAA Sales (approx. time spent 10%)
Have oversight of managing and growing TAA and LR business in GGM India
Profile/Qualifications:
We are seeking an individual with superior intellect, strong analytical skills and multicultural awareness to join a world-class team in one of the leading software, information services and publishing companies. You must demonstrate that you are a results-oriented individual with a "can do" attitude who can translate unstructured business situations into structured initiatives and analyses. The individual should be a creative thought leader as well as a pragmatic thinker. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
  • 10 – 15 years of experience in a senior leadership role in Strategy, Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, Business Development, or other related fields
  • MBA in a top business school is valued
  • Ability to develop tactical initiatives that improve sales productivity, performance, and performance metrics
  • Exceptional communication skills, leadership presence, and ability to effectively interact at all levels of the sales organization including C-level executives, Client Relationship executives and senior-level Sales personnel
  • Extremely well organized, data-driven and comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
  • Proven experience with systems/tools utilised for CRM, sales planning, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, sales force automation, etc. Expert level in Excel and Data query tools
  • Should have demonstrated capabilities in handling new projects requiring total strategy development.
  • Some Mergers & Acquisitions experience is preferred
