Director Procurement
Job Summary:
- This position leads strategic capabilities, technology, resources, and processes across the Indirect Procurement and Sourcing Center of Excellence (COE) for the organization.
- This position will be the key leader and accountable for the standing up of the COE with a heavy lift and shift focus of centralization and moving work to our corporate office.
- This is a strategic position which interfaces at all levels of the company, leading cross-departmental and enterprise process and technology improvement initiatives and champions change to ensure sourcing and procurement delivers best-in-class strategic operational excellence to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, communication and execution of a sourcing and procurement business plan specific to activities within the sourcing and procurement lifecycle; establish, communicate, and implement long-term goals for the department to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
- Stand up a centralized procurement team, leveraging our GEB office program in a way that adds value and efficiency to the organization; work closely with cross-functional partners in transitioning work that exists in various areas of the Company today and incorporating into the COE.
- Lead a globally based team of Category Managers who execute world-wide strategic sourcing for the enterprise, including Facilities and Equipment, Marketing, IT, Supplies, and other shared services.
- Ensure continuous value chain improvement and strategic supplier alliances through interfacing with suppliers, internal stakeholders and key specific marketplaces vital to our competitive position.
- Drive value through leading the creation and execution of competitive advantage by leveraging category expertise, innovative ideas and creative marketplace management.
- Develop, communicate, implement, and administer sourcing and procurement team performance and development plans.
- Lead all change management with respect to purchasing infrastructure.
- Lead the development and implementation of procurement-related training programs
- Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures
- Lead the development and communication of the roadmap for expansion of spend under purchase order.
- Perform management responsibilities to include hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
- Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; manage significant budgetary responsibility and authority.
- Lead the direction and ownership of key and mission-critical Procurement and Payables operations, including oversight of procure-to-pay processes, help desk operations, and overall Procurement process and system enhancements.
- Oversee the development of best-in-class methodologies, tools and knowledge repositories that drive the quality of and time to complete strategic sourcing initiatives across the procurement organization as well as ownership of procurement's technology roadmap; implement a dashboard and metrics to track savings.
- Leads process and technology improvement designed to decrease risk while simultaneously accelerating cycle times
- Drive Collaboration between sourcing and procurement with all departments and technology improvement aligned to corporate initiatives
- Deliver subject matter expertise in the overall sourcing and procurement lifecycle activities for the organization
