About Equity Derivatives Risk Technology The Equity Derivatives Technology Team is responsible for supporting Barclays\' equity derivatives business in both pre-trade and post-trade capacities including analytics, trade capture and sales. We work in concert with numerous teams, to deliver seamless solutions for the bank\'s internal traders, allowing them to provide top-level service to our external clients . Derivative platforms cover pre-and post-trade pricing, analytics, volatility fitting & visualization, intra-day charting, stress scenarios, rich real-time Pnl, Risk, Pnl-Explain metrics and regulatory feeds. The suite of applications also enables auto delta hedging, vega roll strategies, delta crossing, real-time trade capture & position management. Overall purpose of role Our team is looking for senior Front Office Risk Architect who will lead design, implement application architecture and own the application strategies and roadmap for a suite of the firm\'s strategic global equity derivative systems and platforms. The primary focus area is core development, design and direction of application architecture and alignment of architecture with business objectives and high-level company technology direction. This role will extensively partner with Derivative Trading located in Hong Kong and London. Some overlap with US Flow Derivatives Trading will also be required. Collaborative decision making with global Tech partners sitting in NY and London and APAC is required. Candidate while managing local teams in Pune will also partner with local management in carrying out relevant Pune specific activities. Key Accountabilities Collaborate with delivery teams during both design and development phases to ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices Partner with other senior Tech partners to continue to drive the development of a modern risk management stack Document standards and ensure they are effectively implemented by the development teams and understood by technology partners Design and develop proof of concept prototypes for advanced features and designs Provide technical guidance to both local and remote development teams as required Continuously evaluate design and improve the software development and delivery processes with a deep focus on both desktop and web performance optimization techniques Working with necessary stakeholders to develop and maintain a set of performance criteria for all development projects including memory leaks and profiling/snapshots Providing suggestions for improvement in Development or Testing practices to lead to increased performance of the application Provide technical oversight and perform code reviews for multiple development efforts Guide a team of developers to address the highest of the identified production concerns Promote cross team synergy and alignment to optimize code-sharing, improve site performance and increase speed to market Work with the Product Management teams to understand customer performance expectations and to set testing criteria to meet or achieve these standards as future versions are released Stakeholder Management and Leadership With the APAC business growing, Pune team will work closely with the traders and Business Analysis teams for design and delivery, with strong focus from the business stakeholders. Face off to Business/Product/BA representatives across APAC and EMEA with some overlap in AMER Working with Equities and Derivs trading desks Decision-making and Problem Solving This role requires excellent communication skill to drive global technology team in designing and developing new technology and enhancing existing systems or processes and will have significant impact to the overall direction of the Equity Derivative Technology. Risk and Control Objective Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards. Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: 10+ years\' experience with Bachelor\'s/Master\'s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering 7+ years\' experience in the build, design, development of distributed platforms across large estate. 5+ years\' experience with Cash Equities or Equity Derivatives domain Additional consideration for experience working with high volume market data and market executions Expert level in core Java along with middleware technologies like Solace Demonstrable knowledge of large scale multi-process, multi-threaded applications Strong communication skills with experience in business facing front office applications Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work with global team of developer and communicate / collaborate effectively Ability to work with a diverse set of groups including technology teams, traders, quants, operations and other business functions.
