Director - Financial Planning & Analysis(Manufacturing Sector Exxperience is Must)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Global FP&A Leader to spearhead the financial planning and analysis stream, for our manufacturing and R&D project. This position will play a pivotal role in partnering with business operations during the industrialization period, overseeing the establishment of factories and R&D labs across India and the UK, and managing financial planning and variance analysis for commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Planning:

- Build on the overall project business plan for the gigafactories and R&D labs, for annual budget / spend management.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial planning strategy for the battery cell manufacturing and R&D project.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial goals with overall business objectives, including manpower planning in line with the project plans.

Industrialisation Partnership:

- Work closely with business operations during the industrialization phase, providing financial insights to support decision-making.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial considerations are integrated into the industrialization process.

- Constantly monitor the big picture with respect to the Project Financials, to ensure that the return to the stakeholders is maintained intact.

Set up of Factories and R&D Labs:

- Oversee the financial aspects of setting up manufacturing facilities and research labs in India and the UK.

- Manage budgeting, cost analysis, and financial controls for construction, equipment procurement, and operational startup.

- Implement robust financial analysis tools to track project performance against budget and forecast.

- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to enable proactive decision-making and course correction.

Finance Business Partnering:

- Manage a team of finance business partners who provide business finance support to the various arms of our organization.

- Provide financial insights while working on a business case or weigh different options with respect to investment decisions or business arrangements with customers.

- Manage the costs efficiently and ensure money is spent wisely on OpEx as well as CapEx investments within the approved business plan.

Global Coordination and Risk Management:

- Collaborate with international teams to ensure financial strategies align with local regulations and global best practices.

- Facilitate communication and coordination between India and UK teams for seamless project execution.

- Identify financial risks associated with the project and implement mitigation strategies.

- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Communication:

- Provide regular updates and presentations to senior leadership on the financial health and progress of the project.

- Effectively communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.

- Publish critical MIS reports to the Promoters and publish periodic projected cash flow / equity infusion reports.

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

- CA / CMA with 15+ years of experience; MBA or advanced degree would be an advantage.

- Proven experience in leading FP&A for large-scale industrial projects, preferably in the manufacturing and R&D sectors

- Strong financial modelling, analysis, and forecasting skills.

- Experience in coordinating financial activities across multiple countries.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of the battery manufacturing industry is a plus
