Digital Content Producer

Purpose

The Digital Content Producer\'s role is to deliver high quality production for all ELL institutional projects across all Portfolio segments. The producer oversees all project stakeholders and provides effective, profitable, and creative project management through the entire production process.

The role works with Production Managers and key stakeholders to achieve an efficient and cost-effective outsourcing model for content production.

They also provide support to junior Producers/Associate Producers and support their continued growth within the team.

The role is instrumental in adoption and implementation of consistent and standardised ways of working, procedures, and processes in support of overall Pearson content strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to ELL long-range goals, objectives, devise polices/governance & execution plans aligned to the strategic direction of ELL.

Support and deliver digital & print in tandem practices across all project teams while supporting the introduction of an agile process managed within flexible teams empowered to make decisions around delivering product on time, on budget and to customer requirements.

Coordinate the digital content production teams to deliver the production plan, drive continued improvement (quality, time, costs) for delivery of market-specific products or services.

Review business cases for new digital products and provide feedback with delivery plan.

Create statements of work consisting of user stories and technical acceptance criteria for development tasks.

Contribute to the outsourcing strategy, strategic partnership for print & digital production ensuring that skilled in-house specialists commission, brief and manage vendors effectively and that all vendors work to content standards.

Manage external vendors who create content, provide quality assurance services, learning management systems and the authoring tools.

Flag digital risks (quality, time, cost, brand/reputation, legal) and provide appropriate mitigation.

Contribute to operational and cost efficiencies in digital content production to maximise available investment.

Report on project health (quality, time, cost).

Ensure that all change management initiatives in digital content production are documented, utilise standardised ways of working, and are delivered in line with content management policies and practices.

Suggest workflow changes in digital content production to enhance product development and product delivery, through a programme of continuous improvement.

Manage content production toolkits and effective investments in production software.

Strong project management and organisational skills - innovative and analytical thinking, planning, and organising.

Change management, and agile mindset. Ability to think out of the box.

Technical knowledge, including an understanding of market standards (css, html, json, xml, xAPI, SCORM, etc.), digital platforms (Authoring tools, Learning Management Systems, etc.), project management software (Jira, Smartsheets, etc.) and workflows.

Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills.

Profile:

University/College degree or qualification in Media Production, Design or related discipline.

Minimum 2 years of publishing, media, or other relevant management experience in a complex organisation.

Technical knowledge including authoring tools, market standards, digital platforms, and production workflows.

Experience managing groups in different countries/locations; ability to navigate a complex and highly matrixed organization effectively.

Possesses sound business acumen; remains pragmatic, calm under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
