Devops Engineer for Cloud Platform Operations

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES Converged Cloud team is responsible for building and operating the IAAS platform on par with Hyperscalers that SAP Lines of Businesses heavily depend on to serve their customers. We adapt, innovate and simplify to achieve “stability, speed and scalability in order to achieve SAP “gowth and margin” business objectives. To run highly scalable and secure IAAS platform and provide automation services to all lines of business across SAP, we leverage technologies from VMware, OpenStack and required management tools/processes on top. EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Support operations of complete IaaS Service on a global scale, take care of daily operations
• Understand the architecture of SAP’s Converged Cloud platform (VMware Hypervisor, CISCO UCS, F5 Load Balancer, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Container technologies, BIND DNS, Ansible automation engine, Python programming language, Concourse pipeline etc.) and deliver 3rd Level expert cloud operations support
• Work as part of an agile DevOps team and drive topics from an infrastructure automation point of view
• Lead & enhance the infrastructure automation initiative and collaborate with the cloud platform development to harmonize infrastructure and platform automation
• Experience in running cloud infrastructure environments from an end-to-end perspective, covering compute, network and storage up to hypervisor and cloud platform level
• Change, Incident, Problem and Escalation management

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills

• Extensive Experience with Ansible automation engine, Python programming language and Concourse pipeline
• Expert knowledge in virtualization and infrastructure technology, including Linux know-how
• In-depth technical and business expertise with regards to virtual infrastructure including VMware, Cisco, F5, NetApp and other virtualization products to support SAP’s Cloud offerings
• Experience working in large-scale datacenter/cloud/network environments
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a distributed organization of highly motivated and qualified individuals
• High ambition, drive for and focus on results and execution
• Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
• Strong presentation skills at all levels, including written and verbal
• Team player
• B.E, B.Tech or M.C.A

Preferred skills

• Knowledge in OpenStack core components (Nova, Neutron, Cinder)
• Knowledge in administrating and maintaining Kubernetes
• Knowledge in Docker, Helm, CI/CD
• Knowledge in middleware software like Prometheus & Sentry
• Knowledge in Inventory Management Systems like NetBox is a plus
• Driving infrastructure automation initiatives across infrastructure stacks (compute, network, storage)
• Experience regarding DevOps, NoOps and the agile development methodologies
