PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: SAP offers cloud and on-premise solutions that are the backbone of mission-critical business processes in nearly every large enterprise and in many midsize companies around the world. As a leader in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), our team, Customer eXperience & Solutions (CXS), develops two platforms for application lifecycle management that enable digital transformation for our customers. SAP Cloud ALM – a SaaS solution that supports the complete lifecycle of SAP applications from process design and implementation, testing, and deployment to production. SAP Cloud ALM is a cloud native application built on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, SAP Hana and SAP UI5. SAP Focused RUN – a product developed for the optimization and monitoring of SAP systems. SAP Focused RUN is a powerful tool with Machine Learning capabilities developed using SAP HANA, SAP ABAP and SAP UI5 technologies. ABOUT THE TEAM CXS Development Team in Bangalore is a front runner when it comes to adopting the right technology to provide business value to the customers. Our co-located agile teams have end-to-end ownership of product, design, development, DevOps and User Assistance. The team is proud to be responsible for two highly successful products in the market – SAP Cloud ALM and SAP Focused Run. These products have a multi-year roadmap to deliver innovations to customers. POSITION OVERVIEW

• We are on the lookout for a Development Manager, who can build & lead a motivated team, develop team & product strategy, imbibe an engineering culture and deliver on the product roadmap.
• Drive Cloud Mindset and a culture of Cloud Native Development
• Create an environment of trust, openness, learning and agility in the team
• Possess a strong understanding of current technologies, aid understanding of issue root causes and drive necessary corrective action
• Derive strategy & OKRs for the team based on the overarching strategy and inspire the teams to execute on the strategy
• Manage employee lifecycle effectively - hire right, set SMART goals, provide regular & timely feedback, listen and motivate them to deliver on these goals.
• Develop your team - coach and support team members in identifying development opportunities and helping them to achieve their career goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, peer managers, Product Owners and others to create an environment that is conducive for innovation and healthy discussion
• Engage with customers to understand the usage and experience of the products, inculcate a service attitude in the development team

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Proven success in building, motivating and retaining high-performance engineering teams
• Prior success as a software engineer, subject matter expert and strategic influencer on the direction of the product design and development
• History of engineering cultural change including CI/CD, Microservices or API first development
• Strong technical skills with technologies like Java, Spring Boot, SAP HANA, UI Technologies and OData protocols to develop modem cutting edge software that performs and scales in cloud environment
• Knowledge of lean development infrastructure process including Git, Jenkins etc. and exposure to Continuous Delivery practices
• Consistently improve all aspects of Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) associated with each feature of SaaS Application delivered on Public Cloud
• Working knowledge of Scrum, Test Driven Development and passionate about unit test, integrity testing, stress testing and performance testing and test automation

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong educational qualifications (Engineering majors, MCA from reputed institutes)
• 12+ years of experience in the design and development of software products and Cloud Services
• 3+ years of experience in leading a software development team with people management responsibilities
• Experience in cloud-native development is mandatory
• Adept in handling agile development methodologies and lean principles
• Excellent communication and articulation skills
