Role Description
Mobility Desktop Engineer - working as part of the technology organisation, the Mobility Desktop Engineer role is responsible for engineering, development and level 3 support of the groupwide Windows and Mac laptop products along with the corporate owned iOS and Android mobile platforms


Key Responsibilities
Work within a team delivering the Windows and Mac laptop build environments used throughout the company. This includes engineering the Operating Systems, device configuration, policies and settings as well as designing the implementation of management tools used to control the environment.

Understand industry trends and best practice around end user devices, OS and management tooling to ensure the environment remains evergreen and fit for purpose. Provide appropriate reporting and alerting processes to help maintain a secure and available environment.

Define and maintain hardware standards used globally, engaging with hardware vendors to identify appropriate performance/cost models and engineer support as needed within our product sets.

Work with partner teams throughout the organisation to manage the lifecycle of our products and ensure an optimum user experience. Train colleagues as needed and ensure appropriate technical and process documentation is available.

Work with software and hardware vendors to ensure we are getting the most from their products. Understand vendor product roadmaps and introduce innovative new technology into our product sets when appropriate.

Core Technical Skills (Mandatory)
Engineering and maintaining Windows and Mac client environments
Designing an Intune MDM management solution for Windows clients
Scripting with PowerShell in an enterprise environment

Additional Technical Skills (preferred)
Management of Apple Mac devices using JAMF
Management of mobile devices (iOS and Android) using Intune and other toolsets

Non-technical skills, Key Behaviours
Ability to work in a globally dispersed organisation
Collaborative, inquisitive mind, keen to work both in a team and alone to deliver great products to our customers

Years of experience
Degree in Computer related subject, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent
5 years + experience in the Financial Services industry
Significant experience of the laptop and mobile device technology area, including modern management
