JOB DIMENSIONS: A.Supervision Received: . Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from a supervising designer engineering supervisor. B.Supervision Exercised . Assigns tasks to and monitors work of employees in the group when assigned lead responsibility. C.Contacts . Contacts technical specialists to obtain technical information. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 1. Knowledge of Revit is highly desirable. 2. Generates 2-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) plant layouts and drawings using Microstation / Auto CAD / Smart Sketch from detailed design 3-D CAD model with minimal guidance from others. 3. Proficient in S3D modelling - Equipment modelling, Raceway, Grounding and lighting. 4. Works independently in the preparation of 3-D CAD design model under the supervision of experienced designers. Assists in constructing detailed models and participates in client model reviews. 5. Prepares design calculations used in the discipline. 6. Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline. 7. Reviews calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned. 8. Answers questions from client or construction group on design for assigned responsibility. 9. Compiles, maintains and accesses job drawing files, records, and drawing controls. 10. Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements. 11. JOB KNOWLEDGE Min. 5 to 10 Years of experience, Sound knowledge of CAD design and drafting techniques using Revit / S3D / Micro station, engineering drawing, graphic arts, reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline. Capable of hand holding the team as Revit/S3D super user or specialist. Able to solves issues related to S3D for users. Familiarity with relevant design standards and guides, Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline's design responsibilities. Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the discipline. Thorough Knowledge and understanding of Raceway, lighting, grounding design and modelling, cable sizing. General knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort. Experience in using Navisworks for model review and clash detection, proficiency in SPR. Skill in leading the technical work of less experienced designers and/or drafters who share in the design effort. Extraction and preparation of material quantity take-offs from design drawings. Able to work in a team and cross functional environment. Summary: Within the discipline plans and executes designs from basic data supplied.Reviews drawings and/or constructs detailed scale models showing complete engineered systems, structures and plant arrangements.
